Lock your snacks away. • Communication: She’s vocal and has a 100% success rate at telling you when it’s potty time. • The "Dachshund" Life: Strong prey drive and a confident spirit. She’s an absolute dream on a leash—right up until she spots a squirrel. Loves to play and will engage with her human with toys. • Work Ethic: Highly food-motivated. She has quickly learned "sit" and understands some hand gestures such as up, down, and stay (though stay is currently "under review"). • Bonus Feature: Comes equipped with a tiny, adorable snore for maximum nap-time ambiance. *Jellybean was treated for Heartworms in February. She may sill test positive for up to a year from treatment. While he can be a little nervous around some new people, especially men, he has a gentle nature and is settling into home life beautifully. - Dog-friendly and enjoys playing with canine companions - Good with kids - Can be nervous around men but is not reactive; he prefers to hang back and observe until he feels comfortable - Loves toys and running around the yard - Excellent car rider - Crates quietly during the day and sleeps peacefully in his crate overnight - Working on potty manners - Generally keeps his crate clean - Sweet, gentle personality that continues to gain confidence Stanley is looking for a patient family that will help him continue building confidence while appreciating the playful, loving dog he already is. Story
Our shy boy Gordo has blossomed into the sweetest, kissiest, friendly little guy since joining the rescue. When first arriving , he was unsure and did not want us to touch him. He had major stranger danger, but as days passed, he became so confident and happy to us. It’s not easy going from stray, to shelter, to rescue so quickly. We learned he is great with other dogs. He gets happy to see everyone now. He’s not quite leashed trained, but he’s getting there. He tolerates his crate very well. We aren’t too sure about housebreaking just yet. All in all, this 14-pound hunk of love will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a smaller sized pup.
