Ivy is a 1-year-old chow mix pup looking for a forever home. Ivy is lovely but still very much a puppy. She is still quite mouthy. Ivy is housebroken and loves toys. She is great in the car but needs more training to not pull on leash. She will alert bark when someone comes to the door but is not very barky. My daughter rescued her from an abusive situation two months ago but I have two elderly dogs for whom she is just too much. She is athletic and would make a great running or hiking companion. She gets along well with dogs in the dog park and at the beach.

I found my dog Piper in the Washington DC dog place approximately 10 years ago. Piper was one of only two dogs that weren't pit bulls. She was immediately comfortable in my home and has been that way these many years. Piper is slowing down quite a lot, and is growing a white beard. The reason I need to find someone else to take Piper is the fact that I now have very serious myelofibrosis. I really can't take care of Piper at the same time that I'm doing what I can to stay healthy.

Meet Choco, a 9-month old boy who is mixed with Chow and Retriever. He came from a family home but they felt they did not have time for a dog right now, so wanted us to help find him another family for his next chapter. He has lived with kids aged 4 and older and is friendly with people. He seems to be a smart dog who will likely train quickly. Sadly, Choco was never allowed indoors, but he would love to be able to come inside with his people. He will need to learn his house manners, but he is still a young dog. He currently weighs 51 pounds and probably won't get too much taller, but may fill out more. Prior owner says he is friendly with other dogs, likes the water and knows a few commands: sit, give paw and speak. Choco is an active dog who will thrive in a home where people have time to give him walks and playtime. They were surviving on the street's before finding their way to us.
