Yogi Bear may be named after the famous cartoon character known for his love of pic-a-nic baskets, but this little guy’s true love is *playtime*! This 8 week old Chow Chow puppy is as furry as he is adorable! Yogi Bear is a sweet, energetic puppy with a playful spirit that rivals any bear in Jellystone Park. Whether he’s chasing after squeaky toys, pouncing around with excitement, or sitting on your lap with a toy in tow, Yogi’s motto is “play now, nap later!” Day in the Life of Yogi Bear: Yogi’s routine revolves around three main activities: play, eat, and nap. His typical day starts with a potty break outside, followed by a meal of kibble (though he prefers it hand-fed!). Then it’s time for a few hours of play, where he’ll happily chase his squeaky toys, and then a nice nap to recharge for his next round of play! Yogi has a steady sleep cycle, sleeping around 10 hours at night, though he does wake up a few times to go outside. He enjoys hanging out in his x-pen, but his favorite place is outside in the backyard where he can run around and get all his energy out. At night, he sleeps in his crate, where he’s comfy and content. Personality: When Yogi first arrived, he was a little shy and afraid to leave his crate, but that didn’t last long! Soon enough, he mustered up the courage to crawl into his foster parent’s lap, and from that moment on, his playful and curious nature began to shine. Yogi loves being around his people, and he’s very affectionate. His ideal evening involves sitting on his foster parent’s lap, chewing on a squeaky toy, or simply hanging out next to them, content and happy. He enjoys attention and loves being part of the action, but he isn’t overly clingy and is fine playing independently. Family and Social Life: Yogi’s social nature makes him a hit with his foster family. He gets along well with the adult female chow in the house, though he’s a bit too playful for the cat, who prefers to keep her distance when Yogi is feeling energetic. Yogi has not yet interacted with kids, but he’s friendly with everyone he meets and loves human company. He’s especially sweet when he’s feeling relaxed, and you’ll often find him snuggling up with his foster parents. Energy Level and Playfulness: True to his name, Yogi is a playful little bear who’s always ready for action! Whether it’s chasing toys, running around the backyard, or playing with his chew toys, Yogi has energy to spare. He would do great in an active home, especially one with another playful dog who can keep up with him. He’s not quite ready for walks yet, but he tolerates wearing a harness well, so leash training will be a breeze as he grows. Training and Behavior: Yogi is progressing well with house training. He’s still a young pup, so he needs frequent potty breaks, but he’s great about asking to go outside when he needs to go. He’s crate trained and enjoys car rides in his crate. Yogi has a natural love for chewing, but he sticks to his chew toys, and his play sessions are mostly focused on toys rather than destructive behavior. He does bark at his toys and will bark for attention, but his foster family is working on rewarding calm behavior. Ideal Home: Yogi would thrive in an active family who enjoys playing and spending time with their pets. A home with another dog who loves to play would be perfect for him, as he enjoys having a playmate. He’d also do well in a home with a yard where he can run and play. Though Yogi’s a sweet and cuddly boy, he’s still a chow at heart, so he’ll need a family that’s motivated to train and socialize him, as this breed can be a little independent. Why Yogi Bear?: What sets Yogi apart from other pups is his affectionate and sweet nature. Unlike many chows, Yogi isn’t aloof and is always ready for cuddles and playtime. He’s confident, curious, and eager to be loved. Plus, his adorable little snores and flying legs when he dreams will melt your heart every time. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and sweet companion, Yogi Bear might just be the perfect fit for you! Fun Fact: Yogi may be a playful pup, but he’s also a cuddler at heart. His favorite moments are when he’s in your lap, chewing on his favorite squeaky toy, surrounded by love. Just like his cartoon namesake, Yogi is sure to bring joy and laughter to your life! Yogi Bear is an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 7.March 18, 2025, 7:40 pm
