Story
Moochacho is one handsome boy! He can seem aloof at first, but don`t let him cool bravado fool you, he`s an absolute cuddle bug. He loves leaning into you for neck scritches but doesn`t have much interest in toys or food. Can we talk about his freckles?! All over his nose like Alfalfa! He`s the perfect mix of floof and cute! Moochacho can be a bit sensitive at time with handling around his rear end, so HSBV recommends a home with kids over the age of 12. Moochacho is the perfect size to snuggle and adventure with!

Story
The Griswold family- Mum Ellen, sister Audrey, and brother Russell, showed up on a man’s land in Tehuacana, not a safe environment, and so only Audrey & Russ had survived of the litter. Luckily they were taken to safety at a small, rural shelter in Wortham, Texas.  Unfortunately Audrey, and all the animals at the shelter, have little prospects as the shelter does little to no adoptions. There is a small group of individuals in Wortham that work tirelessly to network (and vet, on a very limited budget) these animals to foster-based rescues in and out of Texas that are willing to consider them. Red Fern was contacted by one of these volunteers who, together with her high school daughter, go to the holding facility every day to walk the dogs, socialize them, take them to the vet, and just spend quality time with them. Audrey is very unique looking mixed breed- her Mum is a Chow (pictured last). She is quite shy and will need a patient adopter to gain her trust, but we are working on it. She is happy and plays, but doesn't like to be picked up just yet, she freezes when you do. She would do best with another dog as she's comfortable with other dogs and seeing another dog trust and interacting with their adopter will help her build trust.  She is currently up to date on all her vaccines and will be spayed soon. Audrey has made the journey from Wortham, Texas, to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2602328##

Ellen had a litter of several puppies, sadly only two survived. She's very protective of her last two. This dutiful Mum carries her food bowl to the more scared puppy. Ellen is sweet and friendly once she is comfortable with you and we don't blame her. She likes to ride shot gun in the car! Ellen likes attention, but does not demand it. She prefers the open yard over her kennel- a true outdoorswoman. Story
Halle is a 1.5 year old mixed breed girl with the cutest red fluffy ears and the biggest face. We are guessing she is a chow chow/ Australian shepherd mix, but could be a mix of 30 different breeds. She was surrendered at a shelter in New Mexico, tied to the front gate with no information. She is shy at first but once she warms up she'll run straight up to you for attention and snacks. She is kennel trained, good with other dogs but a little aloof with them, leash trained, and a very quiet and well behaved girl. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Story
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Rosie is shy and fearful around humans and is bonded to Sammy. She requires patience, love, and guidance to help continue to show her how to properly dog and that the world is not as scary as it seems. Rosie is a very shy girl and is still feeling a little scared of humans. She does like to be pet and having her neck scratched. Her personality shows when she gets outside and argues with the squirrels but it takes a little while for her to get used to coming inside the house. Rosie has seen a lot in her life and has some trust issues with humans. She has never shown any aggression and will melt when she gets brushed or pet. Like her siblings, she will take some time adjusting to a new home and may never totally come out of her shell. She would be good in a home with a fenced yard or warm outside space and no cats. Rosie came into rescue with her two friends, who are also female chow mixes. All three were very scared of humans and refused to even be touched. Again, there was no aggression - but they would run away in fear if humans tried to approach. They have been fostered with our director's family for last couple of years while they have gone through a very slow introduction to the good side of humans. While they are now ready to find their forever homes, they do need adopters who are willing to take the time to win their trust and won't expect them to be going for walks around the neighborhood anytime soon. These girls can only go to homes with fully fenced backyards and very patient humans. These girls will not be attending our adoption events and will require meet and greets at the foster's home. ADOPTION FEE: $75 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Petco in Fort Collins (2211 S College Ave. STE 200, Fort Collins, CO 80525)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

These pups are in Boulder, Colorado too!
