Story
Meet Teddy, a 1-year-old Chow Chow with a gorgeous mane that won’t quit! Teddy is still learning how to feel comfortable with handling and can be extremely timid around new people. She is a sweet and sensitive soul who is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the time and space she needs to build confidence and trust. Because Teddy is still working through a lot of fear, a securely fenced yard with a minimum 6-foot fence is required to help keep her safe. She may be shy, but she can definitely be won over with tasty cheese and chicken treats! Teddy is also still figuring out how she feels about other dogs and generally prefers to be left alone. A meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required to ensure a good fit with any resident dogs. Due to her fearful nature and sensitivity, Teddy is looking for a home without young children. With patience, kindness, and a calm environment, Teddy has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

All Aboard!!! Animal Rescue Passenger Brandy Waiting for a Forever Home! ADOPTION FEE: $325 Meet Brandy: This sweet girl has had a very rough life and is needing a loving forever home. Brandy will require some healing and patience in her forever home. From Their Previous Shelter: Playgroup - https://youtube.com/shorts/jKir2LZY6y8?feature=share Playgroup - https://youtube.com/shorts/ceQyKd2IskM?feature=share Brandy is a 10 year old spayed Lab mix weighing 31 pounds with a gentle soul, soft eyes, and the sweetest little old lady energy you could ever ask for. This precious girl arrived as an unclaimed stray with several painful open wounds on her head and ears, but despite everything she has been through, Brandy has remained incredibly sweet, loving, and trusting with people. Right now, Brandy is looking for something simple… a cozy couch, a fluffy dog bed, gentle hands, tasty treats, and a family who will show her the comfort and kindness she has always deserved. Her ear is still bothering her, so she will need some TLC while she continues healing, but even through the discomfort she remains such a calm, affectionate, and easygoing companion. Brandy is low energy and very laid back. She enjoys the simple things in life like soft blankets, peaceful afternoons, leisurely strolls, scenic views, gourmet snacks, and long naps where nobody judges her for hitting the snooze alarm a few extra times. Honestly, retirement life looks pretty good on her. She is potty trained, kennel trained, walks well on leash, good with other dogs, and absolutely melts for treats and gentle snuggles. Brandy is the kind of dog who just wants to quietly exist beside someone who loves her. No chaos, no drama… just a warm home, kind people, and a peaceful place to spend her golden years feeling safe and adored. After surviving life on her own while injured and hurting, Brandy deserves so much more than a loud shelter kennel. She deserves comfort. She deserves healing. She deserves a home where she will never have to wonder if she is loved ever again. If you have room in your heart and on your couch for a sweet senior girl who still has so much love left to give, Brandy is ready to spend her golden years soaking up every ounce of kindness life has to offer. 🤎🐾 Interested in this furry companion? Story
This beautiful Chow Chow mix is a young adult with a story that will pull at your heart. When she was found alone and scared, she had just given birth to six puppies and had clearly endured more than any dog should. Despite everything she’s been through—and even with just one eye—her spirit is incredibly gentle, loving, and full of hope. She’s the definition of a cuddle bug once she feels safe. It may take her a little time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into the sweetest, most loyal companion. She’s looking for someone who understands that love sometimes takes time—and is willing to give her that chance. Misty is seeking a home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. She absolutely adores children and does great with cats. She enjoys neighborhood walks and loves stalking squirrels! To meet Misty in her Colorado Springs foster home, apply to adopt her at mountainpetrescue.orgJune 2, 2026, 10:53 am

Story
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Rosie is shy and fearful around humans and is bonded to Sammy. She requires patience, love, and guidance to help continue to show her how to properly dog and that the world is not as scary as it seems. Rosie is a very shy girl and is still feeling a little scared of humans. She does like to be pet and having her neck scratched. Her personality shows when she gets outside and argues with the squirrels but it takes a little while for her to get used to coming inside the house. Rosie has seen a lot in her life and has some trust issues with humans. She has never shown any aggression and will melt when she gets brushed or pet. Like her siblings, she will take some time adjusting to a new home and may never totally come out of her shell. She would be good in a home with a fenced yard or warm outside space and no cats. Rosie came into rescue with her two friends, who are also female chow mixes. All three were very scared of humans and refused to even be touched. Again, there was no aggression - but they would run away in fear if humans tried to approach. They have been fostered with our director's family for last couple of years while they have gone through a very slow introduction to the good side of humans. While they are now ready to find their forever homes, they do need adopters who are willing to take the time to win their trust and won't expect them to be going for walks around the neighborhood anytime soon. These girls can only go to homes with fully fenced backyards and very patient humans. These girls will not be attending our adoption events and will require meet and greets at the foster's home. ADOPTION FEE: $75 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Petco in Fort Collins (2211 S College Ave. STE 200, Fort Collins, CO 80525)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.
