Story
Meet Horton! Part Chow Chow, part teddy bear (we’re only mostly joking). Horton is a soft, fluffy bundle with a calm, easygoing nature and a serious devotion to his people. Expect a furry little shadow following you from room to room.
Horton has already proven himself to be a champion sleeper, making it 12 hours straight on his first night in a new home without a peep. He settles in easily and has been remarkably quiet so far. He’s also comfortable spending time independently and remained completely unfazed when his sister stepped away for a bath. Potty training is off to a great start, too. Indoors, Horton seeks out a pee pad on his own, and when taken outside, he gets straight to business. He’s gentle, hasn’t shown much interest in chewing, and already knows “sit.” He has also done wonderfully with young children, showing a soft and patient demeanor around little ones.
Horton is extremely food motivated, which should come in handy for continued training. He’s also adorably clumsy, occasionally tripping over his own paws or misjudging the playpen door, but he keeps trying until he figures things out. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly sidekick with a big heart, a healthy appetite, and just the right amount of puppy goofiness, Horton may be your guy!
Horton is a 2-month-old mixed breed who was rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $600 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and neuter. Horton is also tested with other dogs, cats, and children. He is working on potty and kennel training in foster care. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home.
The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.
We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)
Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events.
Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
