This is Coco - she’s very smart, playful and loves for the hunt. She is obsessed at the idea of finding a squirrel or bird even rabbit.. anything interesting to say hi to. She loves the dog park, walks, hikes, laying out at the brewery or just hanging for a movie. While not a big cuddler she definitely still loves attention. She will come with a small bag of her food, her bed, blanket, crate and food bowl. She isn’t much for toys but enjoys treats.

Story
This beautiful Chow Chow mix is a young adult with a story that will pull at your heart. When she was found alone and scared, she had just given birth to six puppies and had clearly endured more than any dog should. Despite everything she’s been through—and even with just one eye—her spirit is incredibly gentle, loving, and full of hope. She’s the definition of a cuddle bug once she feels safe. It may take her a little time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into the sweetest, most loyal companion. She’s looking for someone who understands that love sometimes takes time—and is willing to give her that chance. Misty is seeking a home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. She absolutely adores children and does great with cats. She enjoys neighborhood walks and loves stalking squirrels! To meet Misty in her Colorado Springs foster home, apply to adopt her at mountainpetrescue.orgJune 8, 2026, 4:21 pm

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Fenway finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our  adoption application  so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Fenway | 8-year-old mixed breed | The Goofy Gentleman Fenway is an 8-year-old, 40-pound mix with the perfect balance of gentlemanly manners and goofy charm. He’s mellow, low-to-medium energy, and loves lounging, short walks, and couch snuggles—ideal for quiet mornings, Netflix marathons, and road trips. Fenway is almost fully house trained, crate trained (though he prefers free roam), and generally good on leash. Fenway does require very slow, thoughtful introductions to both people and other dogs. While he can politely coexist with other dogs in public, he prefers to keep his castle to himself and would do best as the only dog in his home. Recently, Fenway has started showing behaviors that suggest he may feel more comfortable with men than women, though with patience, consistency, and calm energy, he can continue building trust. He appreciates gentle approaches, predictable routines, and being allowed to move at his own pace. Kids and cats haven’t been tested yet, but he would likely thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home without a lot of hustle and bustle. He’s affectionate, food motivated (salmon is a favorite!), and full of endearing quirks: soft “songs” when content, pawing for attention, belly rub flops, and his signature “seal pose.” Fenway is adjusting beautifully after a previous ear infection and is learning to trust gentle, predictable handling. Fenway’s ideal home is patient, calm, and steady—somewhere he can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the loyal, snuggly companion he is.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 72 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
