Story
Introducing Dobie, the most amazing dog you'll ever meet! This handsome 2-year-old boy has stolen our hearts since he arrived at the shelter on 4/17/23 as a lost boy. Despite his past, Dobie has quickly become a volunteer favorite due to his wonderful demeanor and affectionate personality.Weighing in at a healthy 76 lbs, Dobie is up to date on his vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. He hasn't been neutered or microchipped yet, but the shelter will take care of that upon adoption. Dobie's calm personality is his most notable trait. He never makes a sound and is perfectly content lounging around in his run. He's great on a leash and will obediently sit when told. He also takes treats gently. Dobie is the kind of dog that will make you feel calm and peaceful just by being in his presence. We know that Dobie will make someone an incredible companion. If you're looking for a dog that is low maintenance but high in love and loyalty, Dobie is the dog for you! Come meet him today, and let's make his dream of finding a forever home a reality. Don't forget his ID 643984 and Run# 850. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER - names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This beautiful baby and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.

Story
People have failed Titus throughout his entire life. He was abandoned as a puppy and found himself at a dirty, overcrowded shelter in a tiny cage. As a puppy, he was quickly adopted, and one could only hope that he had found his forever family. This wasn't to be for the poor pup. Titus found himself in and out of the shelter again and again over the years for various reasons - didn't have enough time for him, moving into a new home, couldn't afford to take care of him anymore... Titus has heard it all. He's given all of himself to so many people over the years, but it never seemed to be enough for someone to simply commit to him. Titus was abandoned at the shelter a final time, completely hairless and covered in painful skin infection. Volunteers and staff did all they could to treat his skin and make him feel loved. In the end, it didn't matter; no one was interested in adopting an old, sick dog, and Titus was placed on the euthanasia list. SSR didn't allow his story to end at the shelter. Now, he's in a loving foster home with other dogs that he loves to play with, and his fur is growing in beautifully. It will still be a while before he looks like a Chow Chow again, but we'll be with him the entire way. Won't you be a part of his amazing transformation, his fairytale ending?

Story
Chico wanted to share his story ... "Despite my excellent care and my affection for the staff and volunteers at TLC, I realize I make a real fuss in my kennel when anyone new strolls by. But I promise, once you take a chance on me, leash me up for a stroll, play a game of catch and especially let me join you for a car ride you'll immediately see my excited, sweet and charming side. Besides catching tennis balls, one of my favorite things is to delicately fish a stick twice my body size out of a stream or lake and whittle it down to manageable pieces faster than a beaver. A few other things about me I'm selective about making friends with other dogs, I walk gently on a leash, I'm small but could stand to lose a few pounds (and am ready to do that exercise), and I'm not shy and just always excited to explore new places. Basically, I have lots of hidden talents and personality that I can't showcase in my kennel. I'd love nothing more than to go on short adventures during the day and cuddle on a lap at night. TLC is great, but let's face it I've been here too long. Please give me chance for my one-of-a-kind personality to lure you in.Chico's adoption fee is sponsored and covers his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (Chico is negative!), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you'd like to meet Chico, feel free to fill out an adoption application at tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a match making appointment to come out and meet him. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
