This fluffy boy is Balfour! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 5/14, and no one has come to reclaim him. We're surprised no one is missing Balfour because he appears well cared for - his coat is soft and clean. The volunteers describe Balfour as friendly, but scared in the loud shelter environment. If you have a soft spot for the shy kids who may be overlooked, please come meet Balfour! Balfour is approximately 3 years old, and weighs 42 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Balfour did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Balfour is waiting patiently in kennel 852; his ID # is 19017. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Exceptionally gentle, he is good with dogs, cats, kids and everything in between. He was rescued from a bear trap, and as a result has only 3 legs but he is very mobile and needs almost 0 assistance. Not a good candidate for a hiking buddy. He will however chill with you under any and all circumstances!

Once she gets to know you, she’s sweet as can be—though she can be a bit shy with new people and new situations. She gets along with other dogs but has a touch of “barrier sass” (a fancy way of saying she may bark or growl when there’s a fence, crate, or gate between her and someone unfamiliar). But don’t let that fool you—Pepper is a gem! She loves to play, adores her toys, and is always up for a little cuddle time. She’d be perfectly happy as an only dog, but she also enjoys having a canine buddy… preferably one who doesn’t mind her enthusiastic, roughandtumble play style. Pepper is crate trained, house trained, and walks nicely on a leash in familiar places.
