Story
hi Regina, this stunning lady is a 7 year old Chow Chow. She was surrendered to us from a commercial breeder from Lancaster when she was no longer needed. She is 65 lbs. Consider the horrible shape Regina came to us, we are still a bit shocked how absolutely lovely and sweet she is. Through her emergency grooming and ever since, she has been the nicest, cuddliest little bear. She loves her volunteers and enjoys spending time with us. She will give us her paw and ask for more cuddles when we dare to stop. Someone will be so lucky to adopt her. She would need to meet any resident dogs. She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. She is also scheduled for a dental evaluation and will receive it as the vet deems necessary. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $475. Consider the horrible shape Chloe came to us, we are still a bit shocked how absolutely lovely and sweet she is. Chloe allows us all handling and was a very good girl for her groom (sadly, she was severely matted down to the skin and needed to be fully shaved). She walks well on the leash and is an easy going, friendly lady. She cannot wait to join a chow loving family and start her next (and the best) chapter yet! She would need to meet any resident dogs. Story
Hello, I am unfortunately having to make the hard decision of rehoming my 6 year old chow due to my new job where I travel a lot for work. He has grown up around my kids and there has never been any issues with him and children. He is house trained. However, before moving into my current residence he had a large yard to run freely in, so he needs some leash training. He likes cheese in a can and ice cubes. His rabies shot is current. Im not charging a fee to rehome him.

Story
Shiloh's story began when he was dumped on a property alongside three other puppies down south. Two didn’t survive, but Shiloh and his sister Grace are both safe, with the promise of a bright future.  This gorgeous boy is shy and still learning to trust, so we are looking for an adopter with patience and understanding. He loves other dogs and would benefit from having another dog in his adoptive home. Shiloh is still nervous on leash but we have no doubt he can overcome this. He prefers to keep his crate clean, and is working on potty training. Shiloh is a generally quiet boy and does take treats nicely. Shiloh does prefer to eat alone, which helps him to eat without worry. Shiloh’s bio will be updated as he progresses with milestones in his journey. At this point, Shiloh needs the following type of adopter/furever home/environment: Adopter with patience and understanding Shiloh should have another dog in the home that will be a good example for him No Children Fenced in yard www.mostlymuttz.org #mostlymuttzrescue #learningtotrust #SeekingUnderstanding #adoptabledogs #illbeworthit #timeandpatience Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2278448##

Story
Meet Grace—affectionately known as Gracie. This beautiful, resilient girl has been adopted and returned twice, through no fault of her own. Despite these setbacks, Gracie continues to blossom into the loving, loyal companion she was always meant to be, thanks to the care and devotion of her foster family. Gracie is a charming mix of independence and tenderness. She enjoys affection, but always on her terms, and has just the right amount of spunky sass—earning her the nickname “huffy puffy” when she’s feeling extra expressive. She absolutely adores other dogs and thrives in their company. While she gets along well with all pups, she tends to form the closest bonds with females. A calm, confident canine companion would be ideal to help her continue building trust and self-assurance. Naturally submissive, Gracie takes comfort in following a trusted lead—whether human or canine—and blossoms in environments that offer gentle structure and positive reinforcement. Though affectionate, Gracie is still learning to fully trust people. She warms up slowly and does best when given space, time, and a calm approach. Once she feels safe, she looks to her humans and furry friends for cues and guidance. Because she’s a follower by nature, she needs a patient, confident adopter who can provide consistent leadership in a soothing, structured environment. Gracie doesn’t enjoy being crated and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. While she is crate trained and manages when necessary, she’s happiest when included in the rhythm of everyday life. She currently lives peacefully with two respectful teenagers but would be best suited to a quieter household without small children, as too much commotion can overwhelm her. Out and about, Gracie is a dream on leash—calm, curious, and non-reactive to people or other dogs. She has a mild interest in squirrels and bunnies, but her prey drive is low. She’d love a fenced yard where she can run and explore, but it’s not essential. Gracie’s true joys include car rides (especially when she can stand tall in the middle seat with the sunroof open), cozy blankets, soft squeaky toys she can de-stuff, and, of course, a good chew toy. She’s a little nosy, too—always keeping an eye on the neighborhood like your own furry watch committee. Gracie is gentle and tolerant for baths, fine with being picked up, and easy to groom at home, though she hasn’t visited a professional groomer yet. This special little girl has a big heart and so much untapped potential. Her progress so far has been remarkable, and in the right home—with time, patience, and loving guidance—she’s going to truly shine. Her smile lights up a room, and she beams with pride every time she conquers something new. If you’re ready to share your life with a dog who will love you in her own quiet, loyal way, Gracie just might be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for. Gracie is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and able to head to her furever home. Gracie is part of our Meet Me program which means you can talk to her foster before applying or becoming an approved adopter. You can even meet her in person before deciding whether or not you’d like to apply. Just send an email to meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information and her foster will be in touch!  www.mostlymuttz.org https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 #mostlymuttzrescue #bigpersonality #chowchowlove #adoptabledogs #adoptme ##2225922##

Story
TYRON is a 5 year old Chow Chow / German Shepherd who came to us when his owner’s living arrangements changed. He flunked the intake exam at several other shelters so here he is and we are still trying to figure him out. Tyron is a big boy! He doesn’t like a lot of physical touch but he LOVES his walks! Tyron will allow us to briefly brush his top line and pull out a few puffs but he is generally grumbly with handling and we fully sedated him at the vet for his spring shave. Tyron appears to want to play with other dogs and his previous owner took him to the dog park (which we don’t recommend but it does show that he may be fine living with another pup). Tyron needs an experienced dog savvy family who can work around his quirks to make him be all the dog he can be. We are looking for an adult-only home within reasonable driving distance so that we can facilitate several meet and greets and slowly integrate Tyron into your home. Tyron has been vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and tick borne diseases, is microchipped and neutered. Please fill out an application at www.CompAnimals.org if you are interested in providing a home for Tyron. Adoption $200. January 6, 2025, 5:01 pm
