Story
Romeo is a love, but like most Chows, nervous in new situations. Photos show him before and after his grooming - such a handsome boy and the groomer said he was wonderful to work with. Chow experience is a must, as well as a fenced yard. He is fine with some dogs, but for now, is selective. He is very gentle with and loves people, but again, he is a Chow and they are often not happy go lucky with strangers, at first - can take him a moment to warm up, but it happens quickly and then he is your best friend forever. Romeo is 2 to 3 years old and 55 lbs of wonderful. Smart and eager to please, this boy will not disappoint. A must meet, for he will steal your heart for sure. (IF YOU DO NOT GET A REPLY EMAIL WITHIN 24 HOURS, CHECK YOUR SPAM BOX AND SEND US YOUR PHONE NUMBER, FOR WE REPLY EVERY FEW HOURS TO EMAILS) PREGNANT DOG RESCUE/LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility, specializing in pregnant dogs, moms with newborns, and small or medium adult dogs (we take in pregnant dogs, we do not adopt out pregnant dogs).  We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions!  (We often have puppies and moms not listed on the site, for they might be too young at the moment to list, so please, contact us to be sure of our available pups!)  We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. PREGNANT DOG And ALL BREED RESCUE/LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER puppies are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health. Our Puppies are current on vaccines, wormed, and extremely well cared for from birth - most even know how to use a dog door by the time they leave us!  They are friendly and social and very affectionate!  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! PDR/LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home.  Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile.  We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm and Lyme tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $595 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)  March 4, 2024, 12:58 pm

Story
Lupin is a 10 month old chow chow. He is very loving, he is very fun. He does well with adults and he does well with our 7 year old chow chow. He is skittish around kids but has never shown any aggression. So he would probably do better in a home with no kids. He loves to run and play with other dogs and humans. He loves to play fetch and to chase squirrels. We have no cats but he often visits another home with two cats that he does not seem to mind. We need to rehome him to a loving family who can better care for his activity level (loves to go on walks and play all day)

Meet Neno!Neno is a do-it-yourself kind of guy, liking to take in the world at his own pace. He prefers the company of people who will go slow and allow him to get comfortable at his own pace, so a low-trafficked home may be best. He is a very loyal pup once he fully trusts you! Neno is open to meeting other confident dogs, like himself. To meet Neno, stop into our shelter any day between 12:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Email adoptions@pspca.org to learn more.

Story
Hope started our Paws-in-Prison program and learned her foundation obedience. However, prison life wasn't for her. Just a little busy for her comfort. She is a slightly shy girl but warms up extremely fast. She absolutely loves human attention and snuggles once she is comfortable with you. She is crate and house trained, knows her basic obedience and is waiting for her family!!! Hope is a what you would call a small medium. She is not the size of a full Chow. We guess she is Chow/Pomeranian. Understanding the Chow traits and genetics is a must to adopt! Chows are absolutely wonderful dogs, very faithful and love their owners but they are NOT a breed for everyone. Please research or have prior Chow experience. Chows tend to be a "one person dog and if you're that person you'll have the best possible companion! Applying for a puppy? Before completing an application, please take into consideration their breed characteristics, puppy shenanigans and the size at full grown. I am full of razor-sharp puppy teeth and love & NEED to chew! I am not house trained, or crate trained but working on it! I need exercise, playtime, mental enrichment time, not confined to tons of hours of crate time! I need quality time spent with me to learn proper manners, obedience training, house training, and lots of time to properly socialize me. I have had a rough start to life and need the best home possible for me to learn about love and loyalty. Canine Partners Program only places our dogs and puppies into homes that meet "their" needs! Our dogs are fully vetted. This includes spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies, microchipped, Heartworm and Lyme tested, worming, flea treatments, Heartworm prevention started, and any other medical care needed. Foster to adopt dogs, simply means they live with you while receiving their vet care. Once this is complete, then you adopt! Our adoption fee also includes 6-week group obedience class (value $125.) If adopting a puppy that is not spayed/neutered and underage, we cover spay/neuter at 6 months. Paws In Prison dogs will not be ready for their new families until they complete their program. Apply now for your highly trained Prison Dog! To apply to adopt: Visit our website- www.caninepartnersprograminc.org Click Adoption tab- Read about our adoption process and requirements then complete the adoption application by clicking on the rescues face. Their info will pop up with an application button. Canine Partners Program giving dogs a second chance at a happy life with our rehabilitation program! Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/GDR/Dog Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
