Story
What is more heartwarming than a pair of soulful eyes looking to you for comfort? Library is a beautiful, dark-brindle gentleman who finds himself completely overwhelmed by a loud environment, especially while wearing a medical cone. This neutered boy is currently navigating a leg injury and needs a quiet space to focus on his healing routine. He thrives on a gentle approach, taking his time to assess his surroundings while keeping his gray-muzzled face turned toward kind faces. Once he feels secure in a peaceful setting, his shy exterior completely melts away. He loves nothing more than to curl up right by his people, offering quiet companionship and gentle leans as thanks for your care. He is ready to pack up his cone and move into a relaxing environment immediately. Open your heart and bring this resilient boy into your quiet home today.

Story
Plum How about a kiss from a rose, by the name of Plum? This 5 month old, Shepherd-chow mix, female pup is an affectionate and curious soul, always ready to explore and spread her gentle spirit. With a playful bounce in her step, she's eager to discover all the wonders of the world and shower you with love and kisses. Plum is a smart cookie, too, always figuring out new tricks and treats. She's friendly, fun, and full of life, and will bring a burst of sunshine to your world. Come and meet Plum today and let her warm your heart! She has picked up training quickly. Already sleeps through the night in her crate and needs just a few more weeks of potty training. Possibilities are endless with this girly girl. Note: Plum is a sweet, calm girl. She's likely a shepherd mix and will likely end up around 45 to 55lbs. Honestly, she'd make a great brewery dog. She's happy to just hang out near her people and take the day slow. Note: she's not very food motivated, so training will take some creativity or high value treats. Praise and play work better on her than basic treats. She is being fostered in Austin, TX but can be adopted in the Boston, MA area for an extra fee for transport. Apply here https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster

Story
Affectionately called "Dorito Ears," Trap is very smart and knows the common commands. He would also want to let you know that he would love to learn more from you! His favorite things in the world are discovering balls in the yard and his friends. This cuddle bug would like an medium/active energy owner. By this we mean, you either love walks or would fit him into your gardening time in the yard. He would know how to self entertain with balls/toys as you garden, but sometimes would come in check with you to make sure you know he's still your garden pal. Treat motivated and Dog selective, Trap can be friends with his peers with proper introductions. He trusts the humans he knows and will slowly warm up to strangers. Once he gets some of his energy out, Trap is very content just relaxing, check in for some pets, napping, and playing with his toys. He also loves to snuggle. Trap is very house trained and rides well in the car. He is a very smart cookie and loves puzzle games too! He will thrive with an active person who will engage his body and his brain. If you've read this far, here are some unique quirks Trap has. He is afraid of sizzling noise of kitchen cooking, curious about dish washer, and is not a fan of the vacuum sounds. Will gather most of his toys into a place he's identified as his safe space / nap spot / or eating place. Knows the words home, find it, and inside + up/down. Understands Let's go/ walkie. Has a strong sit and lay down command is still being worked on. I'M NOT AT APA! yet, but I’m hoping my turn is coming soon. I’m currently at a partner shelter, and I’ve been placed on their Urgent Placement List - which means I’m one of their highest priority dogs to find a way out. I’ve been told that if someone steps up to foster or adopt me, APA! will bring me into their program and help me get ready for home life, so I'm just waiting to be chosen. All it takes is one person to change everything for me - email dog-foster-placement@austinpetsalive.org to be that person!

Story
Boski is a graduate of our Enduring Service program! To learn more about this program, read about it on our website.Boski is a very intelligent, loving, and playful dog that sometimes believes he's still a tiny pup. He lives to chase balls, play with chew toys, and go to play group with other dogs. Boski also loves to chill out and cuddle when playtime is over. He knows many basic commands like sit, pay, down, stay, and "with me" (heel). Boski isn't one to pass up a good nap. He's kennel trained and can sometimes be slow to come out of the kennel if he's having a solid snooze. Other times, he's ready to exit and will give you a bear hug. Boski is harness trained and easy on leash after initial zoomies. He's a big boy who loves his people and dog friends! He'd be a great dog in many home situations.Boski is very dog friendly, but we recommend scheduling a meet and greet before fostering or adopting if you have another dog at home.
