Story
Meet Jinjer - Your Fun-Loving Fetch Champion Jinjer is a sweet, playful girl who brings joy everywhere she goes. She absolutely lives for her toys, especially balls, and could happily play fetch from sunrise to sunset. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you smiling and keep you moving, she's your girl. Jinjer does well with other dogs and enjoys having buddies to romp around with. Because she's energetic and enthusiastic in her play style, she would do best in a home with older kids who can match her fun, bouncy personality. When she's not chasing a ball, Jinjer is affectionate, people oriented, and always ready for attention from her humans. She's the perfect mix of spirited and sweet, and she's ready to bring laughter, love, and lots of playtime to her forever family. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Jinjer is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, ongoing care and custody is provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.June 20, 2026, 2:37 am

Story
My name is Midnight, a young handsome fellow looking for a family to call my own. I am house trained and I get along great with dogs and cats! I am good with children and love to play. I already know basic commands like sit, stay, and down, and am described as incredibly sweet, goofy and friendly. My favorite pleasures are Toro chews, cheese (who doesn't LOVE cheese?), squeaky toys and tug of war toys. I love to go on walks and am looking forward to another playful dog and young family to play with me.

Story
Meet Mason – The Best Friend You Didn't Know You Were Missing Every once in a while, a dog comes along who quietly works his way into your heart. Mason is that dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be by your side through every moment life has to offer. Whether he's leaning into you for pets, wrapping you in one of his signature hugs, or following you from room to room just to be near you, Mason loves with his whole heart. Once you meet him, it's almost impossible to imagine life without him. Mason is a breathtaking Chow and Golden Retriever mix with a gorgeous fluffy coat, an adorable curly tail, and the sweetest expression you've ever seen. People often stop to admire how handsome he is, but it's his incredible personality that truly steals the show. Affection is Mason's love language. He lives for snuggles, belly rubs, and simply being close to his people. If he needs a little extra attention, he'll gently put his paws around you for one of his famous hugs. It's impossible not to smile when this big teddy bear decides it's cuddle time. Mason also has plenty to say! He's quite the conversationalist and isn't shy about "talking" to his family. When it's time to go outside, he'll happily let you know by chatting with you as he heads toward the door. His funny little conversations are just one more thing that makes him so incredibly lovable. When playtime rolls around, Mason is always ready for an adventure. He loves every kind of toy and will enthusiastically chase after a ball or his favorite stuffed toy. Bringing it back? That's not really his style! Mason's favorite game is getting you to chase him instead, turning every game of fetch into a fun game of tag that will have everyone laughing. If there's water involved, Mason is even happier. Sprinklers, the garden hose, splashing around on a warm day—he absolutely loves it all. Watching him play in the water is guaranteed to brighten your day. And if you're wondering how to win Mason's heart even faster, it's simple: boiled eggs! They're his all-time favorite treat, and he'll happily show off his wonderful manners for one. Speaking of manners, Mason is an absolute gentleman. He's fully house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you're exploring the neighborhood, heading to the park, or relaxing at home, Mason is an easy companion who simply enjoys sharing life with his family. Mason is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. He will need a cat-free home, as cats just aren't his thing. He also prefers female canine companions that are his size or larger. That said, Mason would also be perfectly happy being your one and only dog, where he can soak up every bit of love and attention all for himself. More than anything, Mason is searching for someone to love forever. Someone who wants a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, a walking partner, a conversation companion, and a best friend all wrapped into one incredibly handsome dog. If your home feels like it's missing something, it might just be Mason. He's the kind of dog who doesn't simply become part of the family—he becomes part of your heart. Mason at a Glance ❤️ Chow and Golden Retriever mix House trained Crate trained Walks beautifully on a leash Loves hugs, cuddles, and leaning into his people ️ "Talks" to let you know when he needs to go outside Loves sprinklers, the water hose, and playing in water Loves toys, chasing balls, and getting you to chase him Favorite treat: Boiled eggs Best with female dogs his size or larger Would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible female companion Cat-free home required If Mason sounds like the best friend you've been searching for, we'd love to hear from you! Please complete an adoption application at www.legacyhumanesociety.org, and Mason's foster mom will be in touch. We can't wait for you to meet this incredible boy—we have a feeling he'll steal your heart the moment you do.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Meet Bird (aka "Bird the Turd")! Don't let the nickname fool you—Bird is a super handsome 2-year-old boy who is ready to find his permanent "nest." He is a sweet, goofy, and incredibly entertaining guy who is guaranteed to keep you laughing. The "Teenager" Phase At two years old, Bird is essentially a teenager. He can be a little hard-headed at times, but he’s also brilliant and highly treat-motivated. He thrives with a gentle leader, a calm voice, and a little bit of reassurance. Once he knows he’s safe and has your confidence, his true "heart of gold" shines through. Bird’s Favorite Things Bird is all about living life to the fullest. His ideal day includes: Being Your Co-Pilot: He rides beautifully in the front seat and loves a good car ride. Staying Active: He loves walks, playing fetch, and "window watching" the world go by. Snuggle Time: After he lets loose and has a good time, he is a total professional at snuggling. Friends & Family Dogs: He can be a little wary when first meeting new dog friends, but once he realizes they’re okay, he’s solid as a rock. He enjoys playful companions but is also perfectly happy being your "solo pup" if you’re home more often than not. Cats: He does well with "cool" cats who don't run. He’s curious and might try to sniff or encourage them to play! Kids: He loves children! However, he is a "big oaf" who can get rowdy when he’s happy and overstimulated. Because he doesn't quite realize his own size, he’d be a best fit for older or experienced kids. The "Three-Week" Rule Bird is a sensitive soul who needs a little time to adjust. It takes him about two to three weeks to fully settle into a new home and routine. He is looking for a patient family who understands that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Please don't break his heart—give him the time he needs to show you what an amazing companion he can be! Fast Facts Age/Stats: 2 years old | Neutered | Microchipped | Vaccinated House Manners: Crate and potty trained. On the Go: Does well on a leash once he gets into a routine. Personality: Goofy, smart, and a little bit clumsy. Bird is ready to give you his whole world. Are you ready to be his best friend? Apply today to meet this one-of-a-kind guy! ##2008854##

Story
Meet Aslan Aslan is a 4-year-old, 30-pound Chow… and yes, he is very Chow. He’s neutered, independent, a little weird (in that classic Chow way), and not here to people-please. Aslan is slow to trust and can be grumpy when pushed too fast, so he’s looking for an experienced adopter or rescue who understands the breed and is willing to give him the time, space, and patience he needs to feel safe. This is not a beginner dog — but for the right person, Aslan has the potential to be a loyal, one-of-a-kind companion. He just needs someone who respects his boundaries and lets him come around on his own terms. Experienced home required Slow introductions, patience is key Chow-savvy adopter preferredAslan is currently available for a 501c3 rescue to pull now.He may not be for everyone… but for his person, he could be everything.
