Story
Merlin is a wonderful dog & very loved in her foster home. She’s a Chow Chow, & her adopters should have some understanding of her breed. Although she warms up quickly, she tends to be cautious in the beginning & occasionally growls out of fear. Families with older children will be considered on a case by case basis. Children will need to be able to control their behavior around her. She’s done well with the dogs she’s met, but after raising her puppies she might also love to be the only pet getting all of the attention. She loves to go on walks, usually keeping a loose leash & she doesn’t bark when passing other people or dogs. She’s not been around cats, but she’s very interested in the small critters like squirrels & bunnies that she’s seen outside & might want to chase a cat. She’s calm & relaxed at home, but also is up for a little playtime. She’s mostly potty trained & does okay in her crate, but also has been trusted to not get into trouble when given free roam. Merlin has bilateral medially luxating patellas- grade 3 and 4. Although this doesn’t appear to have an affect on her quality of life now, she could need surgical intervention in the future. Applicants are encouraged to consult their veterinarian to learn more about what the long term care could entail before applying. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, apply to meet Merlin!DATCP#483538

Story
Meet Diva!! Hello everyone, my name is Diva. I'm a beautiful lady with quite the story to tell. I'm a beautiful adult lady, weighing about 65 pounds, and just recently had my yucky eyes taken out. As you can see, I can't see. Despite my past, I have a positive outlook on life. There’s no "the grass is greener on the other side." As long as there’s grass to explore, yummy treats, and lots of love to go around, I am happy as a bee in a field of wildflowers. Although it may not look like it quite yet, my lovely maine will need to be tamed as it grows in. I would thrive in a slow paced environment where the daily schedule only consists of treat breaks, snuggles, treat breaks, naps, and potty breaks. I'd prefer if you ran errands without me, as going in and out of the car isn’t my most favorite activity. But I don’t mind holding down the fort while someone is gone, and I don't even need a crate! I would love it if my forever family allowed furry friends to cuddle on the furniture. I can be a bit of a spunky girl, but typically I'm pretty chill and will find a comfy spot on the chair or the couch. Who needs eyes to do that or sniff out a tasty treat?? I don't mind spending time with other furry friends and would much prefer a companion that was more my pace. If I'm feeling adventurous, I may give the family cat a good sniff and even a chase. I would do best in a home with older children who can respect my space while being able to help me navigate my new environment. I'm a quick learner and can adapt to a new environment as long as it has my favorite things: friends, friends who cuddle, and friends who provide tasty treats. Are you ready to see if I am your perfect match? All you have to do is swipe right!! (Well it’s a little bit more than that, but I'm worth it!) *Diva is being fostered in Janesville, WI.
