History: Georgette is a stunning and unique momma who needed a second chance from a rural area in North Dakota. She arrived to rescue with her striking young puppies who are sweet, friendly, and adventurous. They are all now officially accepting adoption interest and hope to meet you soon! A Note from the Foster: Georgette, AKA GG is sweet, playful, and full of love! GG is happiest when she’s running, playing tug-of-war with her favorite toy, or cuddling up close after a day of fun. She’s a total lover who gives the best kisses and will make sure you always feel loved and adored. GG would thrive in an active home that enjoys walks, runs, and playtime, but also loves to relax and snuggle up together when it’s time to unwind. She does great with other dogs who match her energy and absolutely adores kids! Cats, however, are not her thing because she has a high prey drive, so she’d prefer a feline-free home. She’s crate-trained, polite on leash, with some jumping up that can be managed, and non-reactive to other dogs when out and about. Like many pups, GG can be a little protective of her special treats or bones, so her forever family should help her keep working on that with patience and understanding. GG is ready to find her forever family, one that’s ready for adventure, laughter, and endless love. Could that be you?

Meet Kavik, a beautiful 2-year-old, 50 lb. Chow Chow. Kavik already has many positive characteristics but will need an experienced adopter with an adult only home who will understand & meet his unique needs given his breed & experiences in life thus far. Kavik was a stray in Texas for many months, evading all attempts to catch him, until eventually being trapped. During his time on the run, Kavik experienced being hit by a car & negative interactions with other stray dogs. He’s extremely nervous when leaving his foster home. Kavik very much enjoys the dogs of all sizes in his foster home and would love to have a confident friend in his forever home. He showed little interest when briefly exposed to a cat. He's your typical Chow Chow: stubborn, loyal to his people, protective, and wary of strangers. He spends most of his time resting but has the perfect amount of playfulness with toys & other dogs. A fenced in yard is a requirement to adopt Kavik as he's an extreme flight risk.

Story
Kristoff is being fostered in Ocala FL. Kristoff is a very unique dog and such a juxtaposition! He hates car rides, but loves walks. He is the happiest, sweetest, tail-wagging floof, but is a tough as nails street dog at his core. He is a happy go lucky, friendly guy on one hand, but if he gets contained, he is absolutely frantic to break free. He loves to be with the other dogs, but will be reactive and quickly defensive if startled. His face is greying, but his energy and enthusiasm are still puppy-like with no signs of slowing down (except for some occasional signs of doggy dementia.) He does not tolerate his front paws being touched, but does allow the vet tech to trim his nails, though reluctantly. Surprisingly, he really enjoys being brushed, but no noisy trimmers which makes grooming tricky. Kris’s health is good and he is doing well on that front. He has lost a significant amount of weight and leveled off now, so he is much healthier. He thrives on routine and verbal cues, which he learns easily with repetition. Kristoff is full of contradictions and challenges which will require a special experienced adopter, a lot of patience, work and communication. Although he loves to be with a pack, it is probably easier to acclimate him in a home without any other pets, but older children are ok. Kris would prefer a home with his human home much of the time. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
