Story
Dash is a 6-year-old neutered male beagle who will need someone who will not only be committed to him for life, but committed to following his trainer's suggestions and strong advice. His trainers are Zack and Gabi from Falco Dog Training in Yorba Linda.
Dash needs to have someone who gives him consistent structure, guidance, and strong boundaries. He comes with a history of resource guarding and bite history unfortunately, therefore any potential adopter must be fully committed to following the trainers’ guidelines exactly, and be mindful to not to give too much freedom or affection to Dash too soon, as he may try to take over and needs time to transition into a new home and routine. Any potential adopter must also commit to either individual or group sessions with our trainer from day one and to follow the trainers’ guidelines in order to be successful.
Dash was surrendered by his previous owner a few months ago due to change in lifestyle. He had limited socialization with other dogs, though he is friendly with most people and dogs it seems. He is all up to date on vaccinations, had a dental cleaning and treatment of allergies upon intake to the rescue, and he is otherwise healthy. He weighed 26 pounds upon intake. He is house-trained and crate-trained, but may need reinforcement of this training in a new home and routine. In his foster placement, Dash enjoyed his walks, playing with toys, and was a sweet friendly boy. He enjoyed being taken outside often, and seems to enjoy potty breaks every 3-4 hours.
Generally, Dash is a sweet, easy-going, friendly, curious, and happy boy who is excited to go for walks, and may need to work on leash manners. He has previously lived with children, but it is recommended that he go to an adult-only home with no other dogs or cats. He know some basic commands such as sit, stay, leave it, and come, and has been evaluated by our trainer. He is very food motivated like most beagles. Dash is a very happy-go-lucky loving boy who will give you his heart in return for a forever home, and we want his next adventure to be a successful one.

Note: Potential Adopters must be:
1. Located in Southern California to be near our trainer.
2. Willing to invest and commit to training sessions with Falco Dog Training from the start with Dash.
3. No children, other dogs, or cats in the home.
4. Understand resource guarding and willing to work on this with Dash in the long term.
