Meet Belle, a gentle soul with unshakable strength and a heart full of love. Belle’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she lived alongside her friends Lizzie and Buster. Life there was harsh—food was scarce, danger was constant, and survival was never guaranteed. At some point, Belle suffered a broken hind leg that healed crooked, leaving a visible reminder of her struggles. But Belle never let her past slow her down. She walks, runs, and plays like any other dog, and the only thing she carries from her injury is her remarkable resilience. The leg doesn’t affect her daily life, though we keep an eye on it since the skin there is thin. What truly defines Belle is not her scar, but her sweet, gentle nature and her quiet determination to love and be loved. With her soft eyes and tender heart, Belle is ready for a forever home where she’ll be cherished for the survivor she is. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies grace, courage, and unconditional love, Belle is waiting to meet you.

Story
  This sweet little guy is Buddy and he is a happy go lucky 7-year,14-pound Chihuahua mix who has been with my a senior couple since he was a puppy. Due to his elderly mother's move to assisted living, this boy needs to be moved to a loving foster or forever home ASAP.   The family children have heavy personal responsibilities and illness they are dealing with and Buddy cannot join either of the homes of the daughters.  They feel backed in a corner to find him a place very soon and Critter Cavalry Rescue is dedicated to helping this innocent little happy guy find a place to share his joyful personality.     Buddy is incredibly loyal and loves being with his people. He has plenty of energy for playtime and would love a fenced yard where he can run and explore, but if you don't have a fenced yard, he also does well going for walks on a leash. He's also perfectly happy curling up beside you for a nap. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves.   Buddy could fit into many different types of homes. He may especially enjoy a quieter home with an older person or couple, but more than anything, he just wants a family who will love him, include him, and make him part of their lives.   This is a heartbreaking decision for his mom, and the only goal is to find Buddy the safe, loving home he deserves. Buddy would do best in a home without cats as he thinks of them as a good game of chase.  While he can get along with other dogs, he tends to do best with a sweet, confident dog who won't be intimidated by his strong personality, as he can sometimes be a bit bossy with other dogs. Hello! My name is Shelby, and I’m a mini schnauzer-chihuahua mix. My brother Bennie and I were the last two pups in our litter. For a while, it felt like no one wanted us. Our mom was found running down a country road until a kind lady picked her up and went door to door to find our home. Our human mom was overwhelmed and relieved when this kind lady offered to take us in. We were so grateful! She promised to care for our mom and gave us a chance at a better life.   At first, we were sad, but as soon as we arrived at our foster home, our spirits lifted. We knew things were looking up when we learned Critter Cavalry would care for us and help us find loving forever homes.   I’m the love bug—the one who adores snuggling and cuddling more than anything. I love to play with my brother, but as soon as I start to feel tired, I’m off to find a person to curl up with. Don’t get me wrong—I still crave lots of attention and have plenty of silly antics while playing! I’ll bring a smile to your face because I’m so sweet, you’ll just want to squeeze me.   My brother Bennie is the mischievous one—the clown of the bunch.
