Story
Name: GabbitoSex: MaleAge: 2.5 years oldBreed: Pug/Chihuahua MixSize: SmallColor: BrownWeight: 12.5 lbs Medical:Neutered: Yes | Vaccinated: Yes | Dewormed: Yes | 4DX: Negative Personality:Gabbito is a gentle, sweet boy who may be shy at first, but warms up with a little patience—especially with women, who he tends to trust more quickly. He does great with other small dogs and loves having companionship. He enjoys running, eating (of course!), and being close to his people. He is potty trained and currently working on building confidence while walking on a leash, as loud noises can make him nervous. About:Gabbito’s past is a tough one. He was found with a person experiencing homelessness and was removed from that situation due to suspected abuse. During his veterinary exam, he was found to have small scars and what appeared to be old cigarette burns, which likely explains his fear—particularly of men. Despite everything he has been through, Gabbito has never shown any aggression. He is incredibly resilient and simply needs a loving, patient home where he can feel safe and continue to build trust. Gabbito is currently waiting in Mexico for a committed family to say “yes” to him. With that commitment, he will travel north to begin a 10-day trial in your home to ensure it’s the perfect fit for everyone. His adoption fee is $600. This little guy has been through so much—now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will show him the love he’s always deserved. ##2696114##

He’s the kind of companion who brings comfort, warmth, and steady love into your everyday life. Ideal Home Charles would do best in a calm, loving home where he can receive plenty of affection and companionship. He’s a wonderful fit for a family, a single person, or a retired couple looking for a gentle soul to share quiet moments, cozy cuddles, and unconditional love.  Charles’s Rescue Story Charles once had a family and a home—but sadly, circumstances changed. His family could no longer keep him and were prepared to give him away without knowing what his future might hold. Thankfully, a kind-hearted woman who knew of his situation stepped in. She took Charles into her care and reached out to us for help. Because of her compassion, Charles was given a second chance at safety, stability, and love. When Charles arrived, it was also clear he needed medical attention. He had a very bad condition in his mouth, with significant gum inflammation due to the poor state of his teeth. A dental cleaning was performed, and 7 teeth had to be removed. Thankfully, after this procedure, Charles recovered very well and is now in great health. Now, Charles is ready for his next chapter—a forever home where he will be cherished and never have to worry about being left behind again. Adoption Details Charles is currently in Mexico and will travel once a family is committed to a 10-day trial adoption. Story
We would like to introduce Harley, a sweet and cuddly 3-month-old Chihuahua mix who is now available for adoption. Harley is a fun loving and curious puppy who loves exploring and playing with his chew toys. As he is still learning about his environment, he will require close supervision while outdoors. Harley is looking for a forever home that includes another small dog for playing and wrestling. While he learns schedules quickly, he will need continued leash and harness training. Due to his small size, we recommend a home with children aged 10 and older. He is soft crate trained for sleeping and is 99% potty trained. (An adoption fee of $500 is required.) If you are interested in this dog, please go to the Adopt page of our website where you will find a link to an adoption application form. https://www.chewdogrescue.org/adopt If you have previously submitted an application form to CHEW, there is no need to reapply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations before being placed in their forever homes.
