Coming from the border of Texas he is still adjusting to life with humans, but he's making remarkable progress. Del gets along with other dogs, while shy he is generally ok with children. Del has not been tested with cats yet, with proper introductions he may do well with feline friends.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Nona came to us from a shelter after being found as a stray.  She's older and has some things going on.  Our vet found some mammary masses and they are indeed mammary cancer.  She is also intact and doesn't have great teeth.  However, surgery will is not a viable option for this girl as she likely will not make it.   She is currently in a hospice foster home but a permanent home that will give her the best of whatever time she has left would be ideal.   She sleeps a lot but is quite spry when she wakes up and can trot at a good pace.  Her hearing and sight are diminishing but not gone.  When she wakes up, we get her and take her out to potty and run around a bit.  If not, she will squat where she's at.  So she does need someone around most of the time.  We keep her in a crate or xpen big enough for a nice bed and a potty pad in case she wakes when no one is there and that keeps her space and the home clean.   If you think you're Nona's person, please submit our adoption application.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 11:54 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE go to our website www.collarofhope.org to read all information about our puppies, rescue, adoption process and to submit our adoption application.  All of our information does not transfer to the adoption sites. Before completing our adoption application, please consider the following: Is someone home to raise and train a puppy? Do you have a securely fenced yard for the puppy? Can you give a puppy a 15ish year commitment? This is one of a litter of 6 babies that was found thrown into a dumpster at around 5 weeks of age.  Luckily, someone discovered them and then they came to us.  They've been healthy, happy, social babies.  We have zero history.  They have a couple of different looks & fur lengths so we are not sure what breeds they are but most certainly Heinz 57 mixed breeds.  All have curled tails and 2 have medium fur so we picked the spitz group as their possible breed mix.  Our best adult size guess is between 25-35 pounds.  Puppies that are not old enough to have received all 3 puppy DHPP vaccines will not be adopted to anyone in apartment or condo residents as they are not protected against parvo or distemper until they've received all 3 vaccines. Our puppies are or will be neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated age appropriate (they will need additional vaccines), de-wormed and parasite treated/prevented throughout their time with CoH as a foster puppy.   DNA results from a couple of siblings' adopters show this litter 25% chihuahua 75% super mutt with less than 10% of many other breeds! Vaccine Protocol is as follows: DHPP series of 3 are needed and puppies are not protected against parvo or distemper until they're received ALL 3 vaccines. Rabies 6 months of ageVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 11:54 am
