After spending her life as a retired puppy mill breeder, Ruby is now searching for a patient and dedicated family willing to give her the love and security she’s always deserved. Ruby is quiet, gentle, and naturally cautious. She takes time to trust new people and situations, so her ideal home will understand the importance of moving slowly and allowing her to build confidence at her own pace. But once you earn her trust, Ruby truly shines. This little gem enjoys walking nicely on a leash and curling up in bed with her people at night. She is dog and cat friendly and will require a calm, confident canine companion in her new home to help guide and reassure her. Older, respectful children would also be fine for Ruby. Ruby Jean may be a diamond in the rough, but for the family willing to invest their patience and love, the reward will be immeasurable. Commercial breeding dogs, year after year, are housed in large numbers in small runs that have both indoor and outdoor access at all times. All day, every day, they are kept alive for one sole purpose... in anticipation for the next litter to make the breeder $$$$! This is 100% what factory farming of dogs looks like. These dogs are extremely fearful of human touch because they rarely are given any human attention. The only interaction these dogs get are when someone comes to feed them or to shove them through to the outside to clean their kennel. The wasted years of emotional neglect takes their toll on these beautiful dogs. It can take weeks, months or even years for them to trust you. Noelle has been in rescue for over a year. She is just now inquisitively coming out of her kennel. We truly believe she is ready to go home. We believe with patience, time, and alot of compassion, she will be a wonderful dog. The years spent in the commercial kennel may always linger in the background. You can see she wants to be loved so badly and yet, her fear holds her back. If you ever truly wanted to rescue... this is your girl. Your decision to consider adoption through ODAAT warms our hearts.
