Story
Looking to rehome our dog. Gryffindor (Gryff) is a great dog (cockapoo), he’s 11 years old with a young spirit. He’s definitely an inside dog, he loves being in the house either cuddled with his owner or on his own in a room because he appreciates his own space at times. Now that we have two kids under 2, we have to be mindful of how they play with him as he gets older. He isn’t aggressive towards our girls; we want to mitigate risk. Since he’s been an only child for most of his life, he barks at the kids' noises. All of our time and focus are on our young kids right now, so we feel he deserves a better home life. We are looking for a family that can give him more attention on a daily basis.

When he arrived at Flying B, he was underweight and suffering from one of the worst skin conditions we've seen in a long time. The good news? Our veterinary team believes his condition is the result of neglect and a lack of basic care, not chronic allergies or a lifelong medical issue. With proper nutrition, treatment, and a little time, Thacker should make a full recovery. And despite everything he's been through, Thacker hasn't lost his spark. He's smart, affectionate, playful, and completely house trained. He has excellent manners in the home and is the kind of dog who just seems to know how to fit into a family. He's friendly with other dogs but doesn't need to be the center of attention—he's perfectly content to coexist and do his own thing. Honestly, Thacker is the real deal. The hard part of his story is behind him, and now he's ready for the life he should have had all along: a family that sees him as a forever commitment, not a temporary stop along the way.
