Story
Looking to rehome our dog. Gryffindor (Gryff) is a great dog (cockapoo), he’s 11 years old with a young spirit. He’s definitely an inside dog, he loves being in the house either cuddled with his owner or on his own in a room because he appreciates his own space at times. Now that we have two kids under 2, we have to be mindful of how they play with him as he gets older. He isn’t aggressive towards our girls; we want to mitigate risk. Since he’s been an only child for most of his life, he barks at the kids' noises. All of our time and focus are on our young kids right now, so we feel he deserves a better home life. We are looking for a family that can give him more attention on a daily basis.

Story
Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet Clara Bow, a one-of-a-kind puppy with a joyful spirit, an adventurous heart, and endless love to give. Clara is blind and deaf and was born with microphthalmia (underdeveloped eyes) due to her merle genetics. While this is a permanent condition, Clara doesn’t know she’s any different. She experiences the world through touch, smell, vibration, and sunshine, and she approaches life with confidence, curiosity, and pure joy. This special girl loves being connected to those around her. Whether she’s cuddled up next to her favorite person, following a canine friend around the yard, or roughhousing with her dog buddies, Clara thrives on companionship. She forms deep bonds and finds comfort in having friends nearby. Because of this, Clara is looking for a home with at least one friendly resident dog to help her continue building confidence and enjoying all of life’s adventures. Clara is playful, affectionate, and full of personality. She loves chasing the wind, splashing in the garden hose, sniffing out hidden treasures, solving food puzzles, and basking in the warmth of the sun. Watching Clara zoom around the yard with her signature bunny hops is enough to make anyone smile. Like any puppy, Clara is still learning. She is making great progress with potty training and consistently uses potty pads or goes outside. She learns through positive reinforcement, gentle touch cues, consistency, and patience. Once she maps out her surroundings, she navigates them remarkably well and quickly settles into routines. Because Clara experiences the world differently, she is looking for adopters who are ready to embrace her unique needs and help her continue thriving. Previous dog experience is strongly preferred, as Clara’s care and safety require thoughtful management and understanding. What Clara lacks in sight and hearing, she more than makes up for in resilience, happiness, and love. She doesn’t spend a single moment feeling sorry for herself, and neither should you. Clara Bow is living proof that joy isn’t about what you can see or hear. It’s about feeling safe, loved, and free to be yourself. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ For more information, you can email adopt@dallaspetsalive.org.July 2, 2026, 10:24 pm
