Story
After Pinky was surrendered to Downey Shelter by her owner for reasons unknown, we scooped her up to become a Frosted Face on March 9th. She is 14 years old, weighs 16 lbs., and is very sweet. Pinky is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her in a home environment while she receives lots of TLC. Her foster mom let us know that Pinky is doing great with the cat and dog in the home, and she is very loving. Check back soon for the next update! To meet Pinky, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Prince entered Downey Shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim him. He is estimated to be 9 years old and weighs 23 lbs. Shortly after we welcomed Prince as a Frosted Face on March 9th, he was chosen to go on a two-week Frosted Fling. The timing was perfect - we learned all about what makes Prince special while he soaked up lots of TLC! Here's the scoop on all-around good boy Prince: Prince is a sweet, calm, and gentle boy who forms bonds quickly. He loves being near his person, content to sit by your side and happily accepting head scratches. Prince enjoys going for walks, never pulls on his leash, and goes at a slow to moderate pace to ensure time for sniffing! Prince also enjoys playing fetch with his tennis ball (see video). He is very gentle and easily lets you take the ball from his mouth. Prince is also a fan of downtime and taking naps. He would be a great work from home or binge watching buddy! Prince loves to eat and is a gold star member of the clean-your-plate club. However, because of his polite and gentle nature, he knows to sit before getting a treat and to be calm when his food bowl is approached or even when having a chew bone taken away. Prince is also very patient while being brushed. Prince did not spend much time around other pets during his fling, but his foster mom noted that he was interested in and friendly towards other dogs during walks. Now that Prince is back on-site, he is making lots of new Frosted friends! Like many seniors, Prince has diminished hearing, but given how attentive and eager to please he is, he would likely do great with hand signals and pick up visual cues quickly. When left home alone during his fling, Prince barked briefly before settling in for a nap and waiting patiently by the door for his foster mom to return. If you’re looking for a loving, devoted companion, Prince might just be your perfect match! To meet Prince, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Gracie is still waiting… and she truly deserves her chance at a beautiful, loving home. We are looking for a home in San Diego County or surrounding areas for this incredibly gentle soul — a place where she can finally feel safe, loved, and cherished. Gracie is the definition of sweet and mild-mannered. She has such a calm, loving presence and simply wants to be close to her people. She does wonderfully with adults, older respectful children, and other friendly dogs her size. Watching her play with her toys is enough to melt your heart… it’s like she’s grateful for every little moment of happiness she gets. She is house trained and potty trained, enjoys her car rides, and loves going on walks. While she may need a little guidance on leash manners, she is eager to please and so easy to love. Gracie doesn’t need much — just kindness, patience, and a safe place to finally call her own. And in return, she will give you the most loyal, gentle love. Gracie, is healthy, had bloodwork done, a full dental cleaning, 3 teeth extracted, fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Please help us give Gracie the life she deserves.
