Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Rocky – Your Loyal Best Friend and Adventure Partner! ❤️ Rocky is a handsome 2-year-old dog with a heart as big as his smile. This sweet boy is incredibly affectionate, friendly, and eager to be part of a loving family. He loves spending time with his people and is happiest when he's included in everyday activities, whether that's going for a car ride, exploring a new trail, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or simply relaxing by your side. Rocky's story is one that will tug at your heartstrings. Before coming into our rescue, he was left to roam the streets on his own. When we found him, he was desperately approaching strangers and begging for food. He was hungry, thirsty, and covered in fleas and ticks. Our hearts broke seeing him in such a neglected condition. The saddest part was that Rocky actually had owners. When we brought him home and attempted to reunite him with them, they simply shrugged and said, 'You can take him.' While it was heartbreaking to see him so easily discarded, part of me was relieved because I knew this precious boy deserved so much more. Today, Rocky is an absolute gem. He is affectionate, obedient, loyal, and incredibly friendly. He walks beautifully on a leash, has excellent recall, and loves being with his people. Rocky is the kind of dog that quickly becomes your shadow and your best friend. His gentle nature and eagerness to please make him a joy to have as a companion. Rocky does wonderfully with older, considerate children and enjoys the company of other friendly dogs. In fact, he would love a canine companion in his forever home—another friendly dog to play with, bond with, and share adventures with. However, Rocky would do best in a home without cats. This amazing boy is looking for a forever family that will cherish him the way he deserves to be cherished. A secure fenced yard would be ideal, along with a family that will include him in their daily lives and never let him wonder where his next meal, kind word, or loving touch will come from. If you live in Southern California, San Diego County, have a home with a secure fenced yard, and would love to welcome Rocky into your family, please complete an adoption application at www.tlck9rescue.org. Not ready to adopt? Rocky is also looking for a foster home while he waits for his forever family. If you'd like to help this wonderful boy, please submit a foster application through our website as well. After everything he's been through, Rocky hasn't lost his faith in people. He still greets every day with a wagging tail, a happy heart, and endless love to give. Now all he needs is a family who will love him forever. ❤️Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 2, 2026, 6:49 pm

Story
SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL Lola is an active, playful girl. She doesn't ask for much, just a little affections and her comfy bed. Lola was severely neglected. Her teeth were so bad even the bone was infected. When that went untreated her tongue developed lesions too. Most of her teeth have been removed. Her tongue has recovered but a bit out of shape. Because of this Lola has a bit of a drool. It 's not much but the edges of her mouth is usually wet. Lola has had skin issues and uses a cream on her tummy. We are hopeful this will heal as its just a small area. Lola is potty trained and prefers to go outside rather than use potty pads but will use them if necessary. She gets along with the other dogs but barks a bit at newcomers. It has been a joy to watch Lola fight to overcome her ailments. Many times we thought the infections could not be contained. Lola loves car rides and walks but the barking at strangers is a bit much. She gets plenty of exercise chasing the other foster dogs. If you have room in your heart to give this this little lady the comfort she deserves for the rest of her life please come and meet her. We are hoping to find a home with a secure yard.

Story
Hello all, my former husband I adopted Ducky from the shelter about 4 years ago, with some known issues of severe separation anxiety. He used to work remotely and so we felt that any issues he had we would be able to overcome, as well as hoping that our two other dogs at home would help with his situation. We are unfortunately going through a divorce and as I work 12 hour shifts outside of the home feel I am unable to provide Ducky with the care and companionship he needs. I did attempt some boarding school training and medications, but nothing seems to really have helped except for having his human around. He is a very sweet dog, loves people, and is fairly obsessed with toys. He is always excited to follow his human around and when the human in question is still, he will curl up right next to them and take a nap. He loves his greenie teething treats and to have his toys thrown, even though sometimes he loses track of them, or forgets to bring them back.

Story
Meet Violet! This darling 10-year-old girl weighs just 18 pounds and has so much love to give. Sadly, Violet was abandoned at a shelter, and no one ever came to claim her. When she arrived, her coat was severely overgrown and matted, so she had to be shaved down. Now she's ready for a fresh start and a family who will cherish her. Violet is as sweet as they come. She loves everyone she meets, gets along well with other dogs, and has a gentle, affectionate personality that makes her a joy to be around. Violet is currently being treated for double cherry eye, and her corrective surgery has already been scheduled. She will need to remain on eye drops for the rest of her life, but she handles her care well. She appears to be house-trained, though, as with any dog adjusting to a new home, she may need a little patience and consistency while she settles into a new routine. Violet is simply looking for someone to love her and appreciate the wonderful little dog she is. In return, she'll reward you with endless affection, loyalty, and companionship. Could you be the happy ending this sweet girl has been waiting for? If you are interested in meeting Violet please first complete the adoption application on our website, www.greatpets.org. Violet's $150 adoption donation includes her vet exam, vaccinations, blood work, fecal, flea control and microchip.  June 30, 2026, 10:26 pm
