Story
Bailey's Background Bailey was surrendered from a breeder when she was retired She is very shy and afraid of noises Bailey's Personality and Behavior Bailey wants to be in the company of a person She hides under the desk while the rescue owner is working and follows her around She is crate trained but prefers not to be in the crate She will need training to be a part of the family and learn not to potty in the house She has learned to use the doggy door somewhat but is afraid to use it, she would rather be let out the regular door Recommendations for Bailey Bailey will require patience and positive reinforcement training to help her overcome her shyness and fears She is dog friendly with most male pups, she wants to be the boss and dominant.  She has snapped at a couple of dogs.  She is possive of her person The new family should work on gradually desensitizing Bailey to noises and new environments to build her confidence Consistent training on house training and basic obedience commands will be important to integrate Bailey into the family Providing a safe, quiet space for Bailey to retreat to when feeling anxious, along with plenty of one-on-one time with the a new owner, will help her feel more secure The new family may want to consider using a crate selectively, such as for periods of the day when unable to be directly supervised, to prevent indoor accidents until Bailey is fully house trained Allowing Bailey to use the doggy door when comfortable, while also being willing to let her out the regular door, will give her choices and control which can help reduce stress Overall, with time, patience and positive training, Bailey has the potential to become a loving, well-adjusted companion. The key will be building her confidence and giving her the support she needs to overcome her fears.
