Story
I acquired Maddie while trying to do a good deed of matching a dog that was being given away with a person who had recently lost their pet. The potential owner decided Maddie was too strong for her to handle.I was then faced with the decision of taking the dog to the pound or keeping her until I found her a new home. She’s been living with me for several months. Maddie is a smart, extremely loving dog. She is five years old, but very much a young dog who wants to play. My other dog is 10 years old and definitely does not want to play. I am retiring in a year and moving away to be near my daughter and her family. I think Maddie would do well in most households as long as someone has the time and the energy to be attentive, loving and caring. The home she came from originally had children so I am assuming she’s good with them. She’s gotten along with my neighbors’ dogs as well as mine.

Online Adoption Application Cocker Rescue of Florida is a not for profit 501(c)3 chartered organization based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  We are a true no-kill rescue committed to placing Cocker Spaniels and other dogs in loving homes.  We are unable to adopt outside of south Florida. Our adoption donations cover medical expenses such as spay or neuter, 5-way and rabies vaccines, heart worm and blood tests for tick diseases and microchips.  Our adoption applications are available on our web site. cockerrescuefl.org   kingsley would do best in a home with a fenced yard. We promised the previous owners that’s what we would find for him thanks for understanding we have him in a foster home and he does well with a yard to run free in March 19, 2026, 12:14 am
