BONDED WITH LEYLA Hi there! We’re Dexter and Leyla, a bonded pair of 10-year-old Cocker Spaniels looking for our forever home — together! We were recently surrendered to a Florida shelter through no fault of our own, and now we’re ready to fill someone’s home (and sofa!) with all the love we’ve got. Let’s talk about us individually, because we have very different personalities! Dexter is the social butterfly of the two — high energy, totally trustworthy, and always ready to start the day the moment you open your eyes. Oh, and fair warning: he’s a certified sock thief. Leyla is our more reserved girl and has some strong opinions — she is not a fan of being picked up suddenly or having her trash treasures taken away. She won't always be glued to your side, but don't let that fool you. Scratch her ears and watch her little paw reach out asking for more. She is a sweet senior lady. We are both treat-motivated (yes, VERY) and our weights (35lbs each) show it!! We are pretty good leash walkers who just need a few minutes to find our groove which is a good thing because we both need to slim down! We sleep through the night like champs in our cozy bedroom beds. We've been left home alone without any issues, and we are mostly housebroken — just a couple of minor accidents early on that were likely just tummy adjustments from a food change. We would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids 13 and up, and while we're probably fine with other dogs, we have no idea how we feel about cats. Even though Duran is blind and deaf he is confident and warm. He is 9.5 yrs old and carries himself as a distinguished gentleman. He participates fully in the life of the family — following all by scent. Duran is a happy guy, and loves being around others. He quickly learned where the pet door is and goes through it at will. Duran is house broken and even though he did mark his territory before neuter, he hasn’t done so since. He did run into walls and things while learning his space, but now seamlessly navigates throughout the house and yard, and into his kennel where he likes his rests. He sleeps in kennel though he has protested twice so he might like to sleep on the big bed now. He currently eats in kennel as one of his foster fur brothers tries to steal his food, and him theirs. He’s a smart guy, quickly learns where things are. He is easily trainable — He has easily learned where he needs to step up and will slow down his approach on his walks. He has learned he isn’t allowed on the knee wall on the screen porch. He’s very devoted to his family, quickly forms bonds and has a great personality. Foster mom says he’s a precious boy! Duran has all of his vaccinations, is Heartworm tested and on monthly Heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped and neutered. He weighs 37 lbs. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references, and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, and be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.

Hi there, I’m Roxie! I’m a beautiful 3.5-year-old buff Cocker Spaniel girl, 16 pounds of love and loyalty. My previous owners developed health issues and asked FCCR to help me find a new home where I can get the attention and training I thrive on. I am a total homebody who believes in being close to her human — like, really close. I will follow you everywhere, sleep right up against you, and basically be your most devoted shadow. I already know “sit” and “paw,” so yes, I am basically a genius. I’ll be upfront — I do like to be the star of the home show and enjoy all of my humans’ attention, but I do ok with dogs my size or smaller. I bark at bigger dogs. I’m not great with cats and no little kids, please. Teens are totally fine with me though! I can be shy with new people at first, but talk to me in a soft, calm voice and I will warm right up, I promise. I’m fully house trained, have never needed a crate, and I am an absolute rockstar on long car trips. Road trip buddy? That’s me. When it comes to fun, I am ALL about my tennis ball, my chew toys, and honestly any small toy you put in front of me. A monthly Bark Box? Yes please, I will absolutely lose my mind with excitement. I love a good run in the yard to burn off my energy so a fenced-in yard is a must for me. I’m not a fan of leash walks (and I need training on how to walk on a leash) and get very anxious seeing other dogs and strange people. I feel safe and secure in a fenced-in yard. I am in good health and easily take my monthly ear flush to keep me in tip top shape. I am a happy girl and ready to be somebody’s whole world. Well hello there! I’m Jackson, a strikingly handsome 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel boy weighing in at a svelte and muscular 30lbs, and I’m on the hunt for my forever home! Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Wow, what a good-looking fella!” – and you’re absolutely right! But trust me, my charm goes way deeper than just these movie-star looks! Let me tell you what my foster mommy says about me. I’ve got impeccable house manners, and I am a smarty and know my basic commands. I love to play in the fenced-in yard (I would really like one in my forever home) and go on walks (although I get distracted easily and pull a bit). Then when I come back my foster Mom says it’s time to chill out and I go nap on the couch or find a comfy chair so I’m very flexible. I recently moved to a foster home with lots of doggies (and one cat) and I’m doing really well - I'm a very social guy so I'm liking the company! I am great at meal-time and wait my turn so I know how to respect everyone's "space". When my humans go out, I am initially sad and say so (bark or whine) but I settle down after a while and wait for them to return. I don’t get into any trouble so I am allowed to roam freely when they go out - no crate needed. Yay, me! In truth I love to go out with my foster mom and am so well behaved when she takes me along to the local neighborhood cafes and restaurants - I am at my best alongside my person...that's when I'm happiest.
