I came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release after spending my whole life in heartbreaking conditions, used over and over for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. I don’t know what it feels like to be part of a family, and I’ve never even had a leash clipped onto me. The world outside my cage is completely new and sometimes scary. It may take me months to understand that hands can be gentle and homes can be safe, but deep down I’m hoping someone will give me the patience and love I’ve never had. With the right person, I know I can finally learn what it means to be more than a number… to be loved.

Chip is a sweet, energetic 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel looking for a loving, stable forever home. I brought him home at just 4 months old, and since his puppy days he has been a lively, playful boy with a huge heart. Personality: He’s happiest when he’s near people and loves to follow you around the house like your little shadow. He can be a clingy gentleman, prefers to eat when someone is nearby, and will occasionally whine if his favorite humans aren’t in sight. Training & Behavior:House trained & potties outside. Raised around cats and does great with them. Loves to play, especially in big open spaces where he can run and explore Health: At 6 months old, he had a surgery on both eyes due to a gland issue (“cherry eye”), and he has had no problems since. Chip is otherwise healthy. I am active-duty military and expect a relocation in spring 2026. Because of my upcoming assignment and the unpredictable demands of military life, I want to ensure Chip has the stability and family.

I’m the kind of guy who lives life at full speed with maximum enthusiasm. I’m happy, playful, and I LOVE being in your face because you’re just so awesome! When I’m in the yard, I turn into a silly acrobat—I run around like a whirlwind, jump up to get your attention, and chase lizards like it’s my Olympic sport! Spoiler alert: I haven’t caught one yet, but that doesn’t stop me from trying! I’m good with other dogs and would absolutely LOVE an active doggie sibling to match my energy and keep up with all my shenanigans. I have good house manners and I don’t mind the crate. I’m super excited to ride in the car (road trip buddy right here!), and I’m very food motivated, which means training with treats is going to be a breeze for us! Full transparency: I pull on the leash because I just get SO excited about everything, but with some leash training from my new owner, I’ll be walking like a gentleman in no time! Hi, I’m Polly, a 4 yr old, 34 lb BEAUTIFUL English Cocker! I’m a happy, wiggly girl who’s had quite a journey, but I’m loving life in my foster home. I came into rescue after my previous owner could no longer care for me. I’m deaf and have a cute little head tilt from a couple of snake bites in my past, but none of that slows me down—I’m too busy enjoying every moment. Here’s what I love most: I really enjoy chewing on bones, sprinting around with toys (and okay… sometimes destroying them), and playing with my foster brother. I’m also a world-class snuggler and love giving kisses. I don’t bark much—only when I’m super excited about food or when I’m left alone and worried. I have a bit of separation anxiety, but I do great in my kennel when my people leave the house. I’m a smart cookie! I know how to lay down and how to “place,” and I listen with my eyes and body since I can’t hear. I wear a special vibrating collar that helps get my attention on walks, but honestly, I’m already great on a leash and I love going for walks. I have been going through personalized training with my foster mom and I’ve picked it all up quickly. Outside, I like to stay close to my people—being near them makes me feel safe and happy. A few quirks to know: I do get a little protective of my food or toys around other animals—I might give a growl if they get too close but I won't snap at them. I’ve never shown this behavior toward humans, and I’m easily redirected. Overall, I’m a sweet, joyful girl who loves life, loves people, and gets along with everyone, other dogs and cats included. I’m just looking for a family who will love me back, keep helping me feel secure, and let me be the silly, snuggly, wonderful dog I am. I am up to date on my vaccinations, Heartworm tested and on monthly flea and Heartworm protection, microchipped and spayed. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved.
