Story
Callie is approximately 1.5-2 years old. She was brought into rescue from a backyard breeder. She is a small cocker spaniel and weighs 15 lbs. She has come a long way and now likes belly rubs and gives kisses. She is still not a fan of being held. She will go outside or use a pee pad if needed. She has a hearty appetite for her favorite treats. Occasionally she gets the zoomies when she is excited. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, house and crate trained. This little sweetheart needs a home to call her own. She plays well with small dogs and doesn’t bother the cats. Are you her forever parent? We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.

Story
Hello everyone my name is sugar. I am a 2.5 years old male cocker spaniel. I have traveled a couple different states in my two years. I was born in Illinois and lived in Indiana before I came to the great rescue of CNR in Michigan. My foster family says I’m a good boy but very scared. Once I get to know you and realize that you aren't going to harm me, I come out of my shell and will really open up. My foster dad says I’m his little shadow. I am a pretty laid back doggie. I prefer laying on the floor on a mat or blanket. Don’t care for couches or the bed unless there is a storm outside then I will cuddle with you to make sure you are safe. I’m really good on a leash but my family says I’m a little nervous. With more walks I’m sure I’ll love it. I’m good with my two foster sister doggies. There are also two cats I live with here that I don’t have an issue with but one isn’t very nice to me not sure why though. I was never taught that sharing is caring so I have some resource guarding issues so it would be best that i can be in a home without a crate because that is where my biggest issue lies. I might growl if i have a toy but with some work my foster parents think I can over come this. However, i don't guard my food or water. I even can share a bowl of water at the same time with my foster sisters. I am house broken having no issues going in the house. If interested please feel an application out and my fosters will find the perfect home for me. Peace out your friend Sugar. Fill out an application today on our website! We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!).
