We truly appreciate your patience while we work through this issue — and thank you for wanting to help a rescue dog    — Loyal Rescue Name: Cuddles 4417 Age: 6 years old Sex/Altered: Female / Spayed Weight: 20 pounds Breed: Cocker Spaniel (Merle) Foster Home Location: OTTAWA, ON Adoption Fee: $800.00 Temperament: Happy, loving, ready to make friends. Activity/Energy Level: Low Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Yes Ok with Cats: Unknown Ok with Kids: Yes, but can be startled very easily with sudden movement and commotion that day to day living can be with a busy household.  It sends Cuddles running to a safe area, therefore an adult only home would be best, visiting children would be fine Origin: Mass Breeding Facility Requirements: Fully fenced yard, a dog in the home would be nice, an adult family that would love to have a companion (I crave your attention)   And now, a few words from me … I'm a 6-year-old Merle Cocker Spaniel with a heart of gold. My past wasn't the happiest, but since I'm a dog, I decided the best thing to do was bury it and keep moving forward. Now I'm ready for the next chapter of my life—a forever home filled with love. I did bring one thing with me from my past: I lost one of my eyes. Don't worry, though—it hasn't slowed me down or affected my ability to enjoy life. I'm just as happy and loving as ever. I'm a true sweetheart who adores people and craves companionship. I'm not asking for much—just someone who will spend time with me, love me, and let me be part of the family. One thing I'm especially proud of is how quickly I mastered my house training. I figured that learning good manners would help me find my forever family, so I made it my mission. I can happily check that box off! I'm also learning to walk on a leash. The world is full of exciting smells, sounds, and movement but sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming. My foster mom says I'll become a leash-walking pro with time and patience. For now, I actually enjoy riding in a stroller until we reach a quiet grassy spot where I can explore at my own pace. Because of this, I'll need a securely fenced yard where I can safely sniff, wander, and continue building my confidence. If you're looking for a loyal companion, I hope you'll take a closer look at me. Dogs like me don't come around very often—I really do live up to my name. A Note from My Foster Mom Cuddles has one of the sweetest personalities you'll ever encounter. She absolutely loves any attention you're willing to give her and quietly soaks up every bit of affection. She's a gentle, quiet girl who is becoming braver every day as she settles into her new routine. Because she's still gaining confidence, she would thrive in a calm, quieter home. Cuddles doesn't ask for much—just kindness, patience, and someone to love. Despite the hardships she's faced, she still greets every day with hope and an open heart. She has an enormous capacity for love and is simply waiting for someone to give her the happy ending she deserves. Could that someone be you? ❤️ Questions? QUICK FACTS Name: Schubert Age: About 1 Year Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Cocker Spaniel – Spitz Mix Color: Black Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter, and that moment gave me a precious second chance at life. Thanks to the kindness and compassion of the people who stepped in to help me, I was able to leave my past behind and begin looking toward a brighter future. Now I'm excited to find a loving forever family and start the next chapter of my journey, filled with love, happiness, and new adventures.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I'm Schubert! I'm a gentle, sensitive soul who just needs a little extra time to feel safe. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was so frightened that I would do everything I could to avoid people. It seemed like trusting humans might always be difficult for me, but with patience, kindness, and love, my world slowly began to change. I formed a special bond with one caregiver, and from there, my confidence started to grow. More recently, I've made wonderful progress learning that people can be kind and the world can be a safe place. Once I know and trust you, I become the sweetest little shadow. I'll happily follow you wherever you go, nuzzle my face between your legs, and soak up every bit of affection you have to offer. I get along peacefully with other dogs and enjoy being part of the group, even if I'm not the type to join every playful wrestling match. I still need a patient family who understands that trust isn't something I give away right away—but once you've earned it, you'll have an incredibly loyal, loving companion for life. Watching me blossom from a shy little girl into a confident best friend is one of the most rewarding journeys you could ever share, and I can't wait to find the person who's willing to take that journey with me.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be quite cautious when meeting new people and usually need a few days to a week before I feel completely comfortable. Once I realize I'm safe, I form deep bonds and love being close to my people. I tend to warm up to women more quickly, while men can seem a little intimidating at first, so I appreciate gentle introductions and a little extra patience. Sudden movements or loud squeals can make me feel uneasy, so I'd do best in a calm home with respectful older children or adults. I'm comfortable being gently picked up, and once we've become friends, I'll happily roll over and show you my belly—a special sign that I trust you completely. · With Dogs: I'm friendly and polite with other dogs and enjoy walking over to say hello when we meet. While I'm not usually the type to jump into playtime, I'm happy to peacefully coexist and appreciate the company of other dogs. Even if another dog tries to provoke me, I'd much rather walk away and avoid conflict, preferring peace and harmony whenever I can. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy – I have a balanced energy level and enjoy spending time outdoors exploring and going for walks. After I've had some exercise and fresh air, I'm happy to settle down and relax by your side. I'm an experienced walker with excellent leash manners, so I stay close to my person, walk without pulling, and naturally enjoy following wherever our adventures take us.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm easygoing when it comes to mealtime and don't feel the need to guard my food from people or other dogs. When I see unfamiliar people, I may bark at first because I'm letting you know I'm feeling a little unsure, but with calm introductions and a little patience, I quickly become more comfortable. I'm calm and relaxed in my kennel I'm flexible with my potty habits, happily using both indoor pee pads and going outside for bathroom breaks.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I tend to feel more comfortable around women and usually warm up to them quickly. Men can seem a little intimidating to me at first, so I may need some extra time, patience, and gentle introductions before I feel safe. Once I learn that I can trust you, I form deep, loyal bonds and love being close to my people.    SCHUBERT'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2787541##

Story
🐶 Looking for a New Family for Lego 📍 Location: New York Lego was adopted as a young puppy but was sadly surrendered by his owner after three years. He grew up in an unstable environment with frequent travel back and forth to Boston, which made it difficult for him to form a secure attachment with his guardian. Because of this instability, in moments of fear, panic, or overwhelming stress, he has shown a few defensive or warning bites Lego needs a family who can meet him in person, understand his behavior clearly, and provide the consistent, reassuring environment he needs. City life is simply too overwhelming for him. With a quiet environment and a patient, steady guardian, Lego has every chance to continue improving and becoming more stable. The greatest hope is for Lego to find a peaceful home where he can finally rest. 📌 Basic Information Name: Lego Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Jindo × Cocker Spaniel mix Color: Brown & White 🐾 Personality & Behavior People: Very fearful/reactive toward new people, warms up more easily to shorter women Children: Not recommended Other Dogs: Best as the only dog Shows resource guarding around food; must be fed separately Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: No Energy Level: High Touch/Handling: Uncomfortable with physical contact Barking: Quiet when alone; barks at doorbells or hallway noises when someone is home Escape Tendencies: None — manageable with “sit” and “wait” Walking: Martingale collar recommended; pulls with a harness Car Rides: Nervous initially, settles on longer rides Yard: Ideal, but a quiet neighborhood is also fine Living with Other Dogs: Not suitable 🔎 What Lego Needs Lego has fear-based reactivity. His current guardian has invested significant time, training, and management, and he has shown meaningful progress. However, Lego needs: A guardian experienced with reactive or anxious dogs A consistent daily routine A calm environment with low stimulation 🧡 Please Consider Becoming Lego’s Family Once he bonds, Lego is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He is waiting for a forever family who can provide the quiet suburban environment where he can truly thrive.

Story
Meet Misty Misty is an approximately 4-year-old, 10kg (~22lb) cocker spaniel with a quiet way about her. After a difficult start in a puppy mill, she is ready for a brighter future filled with soft places to rest, space to explore, and people who will let her settle in at her own pace. Misty is a sensitive dog who is still learning that people can be safe and predictable. She would do best in an adult home in a rural or small town setting where life moves a little slower. Busy neighbourhoods, and the hustle and bustle of city life can feel overwhelming. Given time and patience, Misty begins to seek connection in her own way, leaning into chest scratches, enjoying brushing, and relaxing beside someone she trusts. Outdoors is where Misty shines. A secure fenced yard is important for her, as she loves sniffing, sunbathing, and stretching her legs. She will play with other dogs and enjoys games of chase. Quiet country roads, trails, and fields are her favourite spaces to go for walks. A quiet shady spot in the garden is her favourite way to spend an afternoon. Misty has done very well with housetraining and has only had a couple of accidents in the house, occurring when her routine was disrupted. She does best with consistency and predictability to help set her up for success. She settles nicely when left alone, and travels well in the car. She has also impressed her veterinary team, happily accepting treats during exams and showing a gentle nature. She is currently being treated for an ear infection and will need ongoing ear care. She is not cat tested, but enjoys chasing squirrels and rabbits in the garden. Misty is looking for a patient home that understands trust takes time. In return, she offers quiet companionship and the joy of watching a dog discover comfort, safety, and happiness at her own pace. Misty is being fostered in the London Ontario area. Adopters with a resident dog would need to do a dog meet and greet prior to adoption.  For those interested in adopting one of our puppy mill release dogs, please be aware that these dogs often require extra patience, structure, and ongoing support. Their temperaments and behaviours can vary widely, and for the best outcome, adoptive homes MUST have access to a fully fenced yard and understand that rehabilitation is a gradual process. Many of these dogs have not yet experienced living in a home, regular interaction with people, leash walking, housetraining, or even having a name. All of these new people, environments, and activities can be scary for them and many are flight risks while they adjust.  Leash walks may not even be a safe option for them initially which is why having access to their own fenced yard is essential.  They need a patient adopter who can meet them at their comfort level and gently help them learn how to be a companion animal.   Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.
