This is the sweetest boy! He is insanely cuddly. Started out with a bit of separation anxiety but foster has been working with him and is getting better day by day. May do better with a family that is home more. He takes a minute to warm up to other dogs but loves them once he does. Same with people, he is scared at first but attaches quickly. Adorable cocker spaniel. He is young and so beautiful. Sweet boy. Owner surrendered to the rescue due to family being evicted. He needed to be neutered and had a cherry eye but recovered quickly.

Story
Gracie is a cute black and white pup who appears to be a cocker spaniel or possibly spaniel/shih tzu mix who is just over a year old. She weighs around 20#  Gracie was on the overpass of 635/Abrams on 5/1/24 next to concrete barriers, within the white line--in a very narrow and very dangerous area, as cars were coming fast. She was close to death so she was caught and rescued.Gracie went to vet for a check up.The vet determined that Gracie was a year or less old, that she did not have parasites or heartworms and she could have vaccines and a heartworm test. No one has come looking for her. Gracie can be territorial when it comes to food and attention. She is a QUEEN and she wants the #1 spot; she would do great as an only dog in a home. She is affectionate, loyal and energetic. She gets along with older children but I wouldn't recommend younger children because Gracie has been traumatized  Gracie is housebroken, knows sit, stay, come and fetch. She is frightened of men but with slow intros and treats she will approach - one fast movement and she will retreat from interaction. I don't think it is impossible for her to regain trust but it will take work; she does okay but would probably be better in an all female home unless males that she comes in contact with are very patient and move slowly. Gracie needs a yard; she loves to patrol the yard for varmints to chase and loves to lay in the sun.  She needs a loving home with a dog owner who is home more than not. She likes to go outside and play with toys that she can throw in the air and catch. She is super loyal and quite snuggly when not having to compete for time and attention. She is perfect for a family with a yard for her to play in and older children to love on her who understand that slow approaches and soft voices keep her happy. Thank you to Cody's for your efforts in helping this beautiful dog find her forever home. Panther is being fostered in PA.9/8/26: Panther continues to heal from her first TECA surgery, an infection delayed healing a little bit and we hope to be able to remove her sutures in another week or so. Her sutures have been removed from her eye and it has healed very well. She's feeling a little shy and will only let us take pictures of her "good side"! Such a prima donna!She is still waiting for BDRA to raise the remaining funds so that we can schedule her second TECA surgery. We are about halfway there but until we have raised the money, she has to wait a little longer.My name is Panther and I want a home where I will have someone to cuddle me all the time! I will follow you around and show you just how much love I have to give. I live with a bunch of other dogs in my foster home and I like them all but if I have to be the only dog that you love, well, I'm fine with that too!My favorite thing in the world is Churro treats. My foster mom likes to hide medicine in them and she thinks I don't know it, but I don't care because Churro bites make everything yummy! I'm not a picky eater but when my foster mom puts some homemade food on top of my kibble, oh boy is that the good stuff! I gobble that down so fast!I like going out for a little while but I would rather be inside laying on the couch or a bed, even the floor. Sometimes it gets just too hot out there and I don't like that. I will walk for you on a leash but I would rather just run along with my foster mom through my fenced in yard. It's so much fun following her around.I've had a bit of a rough time, they just stole my left eye, I don't know what they plan to do with it, it's broken, but whatever. I don't even miss it a little bit. They also did some big surgery to my left ear. My foster mom calls it a TECA and the surgeon explained to me that it was a Total Ear Canal Ablation. I don't know what that means but I know they took all the yucky things out of my ear and now it feels so much better. They tell me I'm going to have the same thing done in my right ear. I can't wait, my right ear hurts so badly too! My foster mom said that they are waiting until they raise the money to do it. I don't know what money is, but I hope they raise it soon so I can feel all better!Right now I am not looking my prettiest, but I am healing every day and my fur will grow back good as new!My foster mom says the family that gets to live with me forever will be a very lucky family. I'm the best girl ever!BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Looking responsible and experienced home for my dog Melo where he can receive the patience, structure, and understanding he needs. He is a loving and affectionate dog with a sweet personality, but he does have some behavioral challenges that require an owner who is prepared to work with him.He is mostly house-trained but may have occasional accidents, especially on beds, as he was not trained to stay off furniture. He experiences separation anxiety and can become very protective of his home and unfamiliar people entering the house. He has a history of a bite incident and may react defensively when scared, uncomfortable, such as bathing.He does feel intimidated by children at first but can grow to be very affectionate and protective of them . He does well at dog parks but may react when seeing unfamiliar dogs loose on walks.Despite his challenges, he is a sweet dog who deserves a home that understands his needs and can provide him with the guidance and care he needs.
