Story
Panther is being fostered in PA.My name is Panther and I want a home where I will have someone to cuddle me all the time! I will follow you around and show you just how much love I have to give. I live with a bunch of other dogs in my foster home and I like them all but if I have to be the only dog that you love, well, I'm fine with that too!My favorite thing in the world is Churro treats. My foster mom likes to hide medicine in them and she thinks I don't know it, but I don't care because Churro bites make everything yummy! I'm not a picky eater but when my foster mom puts some homemade food on top of my kibble, oh boy is that the good stuff! I gobble that down so fast!I like going out for a little while but I would rather be inside laying on the couch or a bed, even the floor. Sometimes it gets just too hot out there and I don't like that. I will walk for you on a leash but I would rather just run along with my foster mom through my fenced in yard. It's so much fun following her around.I've had a bit of a rough time, they just stole my left eye, I don't know what they plan to do with it, it's broken, but whatever. I don't even miss it a little bit. They also did some big surgery to my left ear. My foster mom calls it a TECA and the surgeon explained to me that it was a Total Ear Canal Ablation. I don't know what that means but I know they took all the yucky things out of my ear and now it feels so much better. They tell me I'm going to have the same thing done in my right ear. I can't wait, my right ear hurts so badly too! My foster mom said that they are waiting until they raise the money to do it. I don't know what money is, but I hope they raise it soon so I can feel all better!Right now I am not looking my prettiest, but I am healing every day and my fur will grow back good as new!My foster mom says the family that gets to live with me forever will be a very lucky family. I'm the best girl ever!BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Sam is a sweetheart senior who would love a safe and happy place to just hang out. He doesn't ask for much! He would be a great dog for someone who just wants a quiet companion. He doesn't need doggy playmates (he doesn't mind them, just doesn't need them). He wouldn't mind gentle morning walks, but can get by without those too. He has the most beautiful coloring! He needs occasional grooming and more frequent brushing, but he's super low maintenance! Can you be that companion for him? Note:  His breed is not confirmed, it is our best guess based on his very good looks and temperament.   Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor, and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2787378##

Story
Looking responsible and experienced home for my dog Melo where he can receive the patience, structure, and understanding he needs. He is a loving and affectionate dog with a sweet personality, but he does have some behavioral challenges that require an owner who is prepared to work with him.He is mostly house-trained but may have occasional accidents, especially on beds, as he was not trained to stay off furniture. He experiences separation anxiety and can become very protective of his home and unfamiliar people entering the house. He has a history of a bite incident and may react defensively when scared, uncomfortable, such as bathing. He does feel intimidated by children at first but can grow to be very affectionate and protective of them . He does well at dog parks but may react when seeing unfamiliar dogs loose on walks.Despite his challenges, he is a sweet dog who deserves a home that understands his needs and can provide him with the guidance and care he needs.

Story
Abby — Her Happily-Ever-After Is Waiting Hi there… I’m Abby, and I have a very important question for you: Do you have room in your heart and on your couch for a girl who has been waiting a very long time to belong to someone? I’m a beautiful 55-lb liver, white & roan Brittany/GSP mix, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE with my whole heart. I’m healthy, spayed, heartworm and tick negative, and on prevention. Now all I’m missing is my forever family. I’m the perfect combination of silly and snuggly. I’ll get a case of the zoomies, race around and enjoy myself, and then—just like that—I’m ready to curl up beside you for some serious couch time. ️ I’m pretty sure being a professional cuddle buddy is the job I was born to do. And personal space? Well… I may have heard of it. If you’re my person, I want to be with you. That’s why getting a good picture of me can be tricky—I’d much rather be leaning against you, sitting beside you, or soaking up your love than posing for the camera. I Want to Be Your One & Only Abby loves her people BIG, and she would be happiest as the only dog in her forever home. But please don’t think of that as something she’s missing. Think of it this way: one very special girl gets to give one very lucky family ALL of her heart. ❤️ She isn't asking for doggie siblings. She is asking for YOU—someone who wants a devoted companion, a couch-sharing partner and a best friend who will be thrilled every single day that you came home. A physical fenced yard is required so Abby can safely enjoy her sunshine, sniffing adventures and those adorable bursts of zoomies before coming back inside to her favorite place—right next to her person. Her Past Is Behind Her. Her Future Is What Matters. Abby's life wasn't always easy. There was a time when she was frightened, confused and facing a future that almost ended far too soon. Kind people chose to give her another chance. And Abby did something beautiful with that chance. She blossomed. Today, we don't want Abby's story to be about what almost happened to her. We want it to be about what happens next. We want the next chapter to be about the day someone saw her sweet face and decided: “That's my girl.” A warm bed. A safe yard. A spot on the couch. A human to follow from room to room. A lifetime of belly rubs, kisses and being ridiculously spoiled. That's the ending we're looking for. ❤️ Abby doesn't need a perfect world. She just needs to be someone's girl. And whoever chooses her won't simply be giving Abby her forever home… They'll be getting a loyal, affectionate, wonderfully silly girl who has been saving an enormous amount of love for the family she can finally call her own. Abby is ready. Her bags are packed. Her heart is wide open. Her couch-cuddling skills have been perfected. Now she just needs someone to say, “Abby, you're home.” The adoption fee for OK/Abby,  who lives in Tulsa, OK area  is $325, (which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making OK/Abby part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Please let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  Also, please email the state coordinator of OK/Abby-Melinde Waddle @ macgammy@gmail.com  Once approved by your state coordinator, I will setup talking with you about Abby. Transportation can be arranged up  to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.    September 5, 2026, 10:05 am

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. Story
Are you looking for your new best friend and adventure partner, whether it is exploring nature or riding shotgun in your vehicle?  Darling Dolly is a beautiful, smart independent 8-year-old, 54 lb, orange and white spayed female who is full of life.  She loves attention and lovin. In addition, Dolly loves outdoor adventures and enjoys scanning the woods for birds and other critters. This sweet girl definitely has a high prey drive and is also very food motivated.  Her adopter needs to understand that she gives harmless love nips as a sign of affection. Dolly is very eager to please her humans, but only homes with older considerate children will be considered. To keep this precious girl emotionally stimulated, she would enjoy puzzles and other enrichment activities. Would you like to participate in agility or barn hunts with your Brittany? Well....Dolly is your gal!  Due to her keen sense pf smell, Dolly enjoys scent games in the house and in the backyard. In true Brittany fashion, Dolly has been known to pull on a leash. with that being said, she could use some additional leash training. A fenced yard is required for Dolly. She loves to run for the fun of it. Sweet Dolly is housetrained and even though she is crate trained, she is trusted alone in the house; however, she is a well accomplished counter surfer, she has even been known to slide open a few doors.  At her previous foster home, she wore and responded to an e collar for recall. Her nose simply gets the best of her, so at times, without the e collar Dolly experiences selective hearing. Even though Dolly can be very active and instinctive, she gives lots of love and affection. She has been well loved and will be a fabulous dog for the right home. Dolly is heartworm negative, spayed and up to date on all vaccines, in addition to being microchipped. She also receives monthly heartworm preventative. Below is Dolly's furever home wishlist: A home full of love with lots of hugs and snuggles An active home  A fenced back yard An easygoing doggie fursibling - NO CATS Dolly would also excel at the following  Agility Scent activities Dolly's adoption fee is $350 to offset vetting costs. She is currently located in North Georgia, but can be transported up to 1400 miles to an approved adopter. (with the adopter being responsible for the last up to 100 miles).
