Story
Hope is an incredibly sweet dog. We adopted her from a shelter in the Dallas area in 2013. She was a young adult at the time, so we think she is about 14 years old now. It has been a blessing to have her, but as our family is growing we don’t believe any longer that we have the time and resources necessary to be the best possible owners for her.

Story
Age 18 months on May 31, 2025. Affectionate, playful, alert, communicative, Good sense of humor. Large for breed, healthy, strong, communicative. Loves to sit, observe. Adopted as replacement companion at age 12 weeks after our longtime rescue cocker died DEC2023. Despite considerable and ongoing behavioral and training support, lacks basic obedience skills. Sits on command but does not reliably come or stay. Vet-diagnosed fear-based aggression. Handling reactivity surfaced at age 6 months. Treasure-guarding showed up later, continues. Neutered recently, age 16 months, Improvement noted. On Fluoxetine abt a year, to continue during 90-day post-op monitoring. Playful with dogs on walks; given his resource-guarding issues with us, not sure how he’d be with another dog at home. We are active seniors and business owners. If unpredictable guarding behavior does not moderate further, this lovable young fellow will need more supportive (no abuse!) attention that we can continue to provide.

Sweet dog that is food protective. We are working parents that do not have the ability to be with him throughout the day. He deserves better… we are looking for a good home for him
