Found at busy intersection. Had been there about 2 weeks. Gulfgate Animal said he is @ 2 yrs.not chipped good teeth has been well cared for. He is housebroken friendly lovable gets along well with my dog. They play and really enjoy each other. He does not get on furniture or beg for food. I’m too old to manage two dogs in limited space and can not give him the life he deserves.Could not leave him and risk him being killed by a car. He is a good dog.

Story
We are active seniors & business owners. After our aged rescue cocker died last year, we purchased James as a replacement companion from a woman in E Texas w/3 AKC registered cockers who sells their pups. Age 18 months on May 31, 2025. Affectionate, playful, alert, good sense of humor. Very communicative. Loves to sit & watch. Responds instantly to "sit", but not "come", Large for his breed, healthy & strong. Despite considerable & ongoing behavioral & training support, lacks basic obedience skills. In our middle 70s, his leash Impulsivity is a safety issue for us. . Handling reactivity surfaced at age approx 6 months. Vet-diagnosed fear-based aggression, Handling reactivity & treasure-guarding. Neutered 6 weeks ago. Improvement noted. Rx Fluox to continue during 90-day post-op monitoring. If reactivity/guarding does not moderate during this 90-day observation period, this lovable young fellow will need more supportive (no abuse!) attention than we can continue to provide.

Story
Max is a wonderful pure bred cocker spaniel we purchased from a reputable breeder at 8 weeks old. He's been such a delight from day one, and he was so easy to train. Max is house trained, understands simple commands and extremely great with kids. He's grown up with my son who's now 14. Due to his recent health issues and the possibility of having kidney stones or needing surgery to remove a mucus plug - we cannot afford these costs. It breaks our heart to give Max away, but we hope he finds the best home.

Story
WARM, EAGER-TO-PLEASE COMPANION  DOB 4/6/24, weight 13# Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Coco, a friendly, gentle, affectionate, and playful "harlequin" Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/ Shetland Sheepdog mix fella. "Harlequin" means that I'm mostly white with rust spots and patches on my face and ears. I’m really quite adorable-looking, although it will take a DNA test to determine my actual heritage. That’s because I have the long, wedge-shaped head and bushy, arched tail of a Sheltie and the wispy ears and size of a Cavalier. But who knows for sure? My sweet, perky expression draws everyone to me, and I soon become their warm, eager-to-please companion. I’m devoted to my foster mom and get along nicely with her resident cats. I’m great with well-behaved children who’ve been taught how to handle small dogs. I’m young and frisky, so I love to play with other small dogs. Cavaliers are an active breed, so we enjoy a frolic in the back yard or a squirrel chase. However, depending on our owner’s lifestyle, we’re adaptable: we can be upbeat athletes with active owners yet shameless couch potatoes with homebodies. I was surrendered to my HOPE foster mom because my owners could no longer care for me. I came to Foster Mom already house-, kennel-, and leash-trained, so I’ve been an easy addition to her household. Now I’m ready to bring my sparkling presence and gentle companionship to my new family. Could that be you? If you’re looking for the ultimate lap dog with a big-dog’s temperament, I’m the boy for you! Arrange to meet me today so we can begin writing new chapters in our lives together! HOPE ID D25-0509-0025 If you are interested in Coco and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you. May 20, 2025, 4:42 pm
