Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Detective didn’t always have that confident little strut or those curious, knowing eyes. In fact, his story started in a quiet, lonely place—on the side of the road, where he and his siblings were left with nothing but each other. They huddled close, unsure of what had happened or why their world had suddenly changed. But even then, Detective stood out. While the others whimpered, he watched. While they waited, he wandered just a few steps farther, nose to the ground, as if trying to piece together the mystery of where they were—and where they belonged. That’s how he got his name. When help finally arrived, Detective was the first to walk forward, tail wagging cautiously, as if to say, “I think you’re the good guys.” Since that day, he’s been solving little mysteries everywhere he goes—like where the treats are hidden, who needs a cuddle the most, and how to turn even the toughest days into something a little brighter. Now safe and full of hope, Detective is ready for his biggest case yet: finding his forever family. He’s looking for someone to share adventures with, to curl up beside after a long day, and to love unconditionally. In return, he promises loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of companionship. All that’s missing from his story… is you. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 19, 2026, 8:58 am

Story
The owners were older and couldn't handle her energy level, though, truth be told, they didn't really try everything like a trainer, etc, they just gave up and turned her over to a kill shelter. She's high energy, needs training and room to run that energy off, with some playmates to wear each other out. Even some older kids to run around with. Do you go running or hiking? Then this girl is your kind of buddy! She's also one big LOVE BUG. She wants all the pets, please and thank you. She can even out run mini Aussies at the Foster Home, which is usually unheard of there! But they're all having a blast running around, playing and wearing each other out. She's doesn't bother the barn cats on the farm. She's house trained, too, and does very well in the house. She needs a yard with a fence to run in. And a friend to play with. She's very well mannered if you are the Alpha. She's playful, fun, and loveable to the MAX.NOT AN APARTMENT DOG.She's been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and on all preventions, as all of our dogs are, so she's ready and eager to go! Apply for this 1 year old beautiful girl online atMadisonarf.orgHer adoption fee is $200

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sargent… or as he prefers to be called, Sargent Sniffington III, Chief of Backyard Security and Sock Acquisition. Sargent’s story begins on what he dramatically refers to as “The Great Abandonment of the Snack Bowl.” He and his siblings were left to fend for themselves, which—according to Sargent—was basically a full-blown action movie. There were daring missions (crossing the yard), stealth operations (sneaking up on leaves), and intense survival moments (waiting a full five minutes between meals). But even in those trying times, Sargent rose to leadership. While his siblings napped, Sargent stood guard. While his siblings played, Sargent supervised… loudly. While his siblings shared toys, Sargent… confiscated them in the name of “puppy law.” He quickly earned his title: Sargent—a brave, slightly bossy, and endlessly lovable protector of all things squeaky. Now safe and thriving, Sargent has shifted his mission. These days, he’s focused on: Conducting thorough inspections of every new human (expect face licks) Patrolling living rooms for rogue crumbs Enforcing strict “no empty lap” policies And leading daily zoomie drills at top speed Despite his tough-guy title, Sargent has a soft side. He melts into cuddles like a marshmallow in hot cocoa and believes belly rubs are a constitutional right. Sargent is officially ready to retire from his post in “The Wild” and accept a new assignment: Your Forever Home. Preferably one with snacks, soft beds, and citizens willing to comply with his very reasonable demands for love and attention. Apply today—Sargent is currently accepting applications… but be warned: he will steal your socks and your heart. Story
Meet Duchess! Don’t let her small size fool you, Duchess has a huge personality packed into a tiny body. As the smallest of her brothers and sisters, she has no problem keeping up and making everyone laugh with her hilarious antics. She is confident, playful, and always ready to turn an ordinary moment into entertainment. One of Duchess’s favorite games is sprinting from one end of the couch to the other while playing with the other dogs, dramatically flopping over at each end like she’s “playing dead” before jumping right back up to do it all over again. Her goofy personality and endless energy make her impossible not to love. Duchess would thrive in a fun-loving home that will appreciate her silly spirit, playful energy, and all the laughter she brings along with her.
