Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Australian Kelpie xEstimated Birth Date: 11/1/2020When Kern County Animal Services reached out regarding Sierra we agreed to meet her but honestly didn’t have high hopes. Sierra was born with an Imperforate Anus. What this means is she did not have an anal opening. Her feces passed through her vaginal area. Most dogs with this condition grow septic when they are puppies and often humane euthanasia is the kindest option. But Sierra somehow beat the odds. Not only has she made it to adulthood but she is thriving! This girl has so much light and life! She is definitely a dog that deserved a 2nd Chance. Sierras surgery was complicated. But that’s where we excel. We’re good at complicated. She came out of her surgery with flying colors and has made a full recovery. Sierra is happy, social and active. She loves people, although she’s a touch shy and timid when 1st getting to know them, and wants nothing more than a bit of love and affection. Well let’s be real she really wants all your love and attention lol. True to her breed she has a good amount of fun energy and would do best in a home with some physical activity. She’d be a great hiking buddy and would love to go on all of your adventures. Sierra is good with other dogs and has been amazing with every dog we’ve paired her with at the ranch. Due to the nature of the anal repairs Sierra needed she is not fully house trained. We’ve got her on a pretty consistent schedule which has helped tremendously with timing her to void outside but she will likely never be completely perfect. If Sierra’s story touches you as much as it’s touched us please apply to give this very deserving girl an amazing home. Story
Sex: Male Breed: Cattledog Estimated Date of Birth : 09/20/2022At a compact 30lbs Heinz makes us all super happy. This sweet boy is an absolute gem!!! He’s gentle, he’s kind and he’s wonderful with everyone and everything. Yes everything! Dogs of all sizes, children and even cats he loves them all! Someone is going to get a super fantastic dog and it blows our minds that such a good dog almost didn’t make it out of the shelter alive. It was down to the wire for Heniz. With no adoption interest he had run out of time at our county shelter and was euthanasia listed. Lucky for him he had advocates in his corner who made sure he was seen and one of those advocates is currently fostering him. That advocate and foster spot saved his life! Heinz has fully embraced his 2nd chance. He’s a wonderful boy with a happy positive outlook on life. He’d thrive with any family and is ready to find that special home to call his own. Whoever adopts Heinz is going to get really great dog as guarantee it! If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/
