Like you come to expect from a cattle dog; I am active, fiercely loyal and cuddly as can be. I am also nippy and obsessed with herding things, including cars and cats. I take a minute to warm up to strangers but once I know you I'm all in with cuddles and fun. I can keep up on any hiking trail or adventure. My perfect home will be out in the country, with limited traffic and visitors. I prefer a quieter home where I am the only pet but I don't mind hanging with other calm dog friends when we're out and about. I would prefer my people be adults or older, respectful teens. I might be a little shy at first, but once I know I’m safe, my true personality shines. I’ve discovered that life can be pretty great - especially when it includes playing ball, going on hikes, learning, and soaking up all the snuggles and pets I can get. Training is one of my favorite things, and I love showing off my skills like sit, shake, stay, and belly crawl. The staff will show you how to use my clicker to teach me new tricks, and I would have so much fun learning from you. My brain works fast, and I’m proud of it! Because I didn’t get to experience a lot as a young pup, some things in the world (like loud traffic or other dogs) can feel overwhelming to me. When that happens, I just need a little understanding and guidance. What I really dream of is a calm, loving home where I can be the only pet, relax away from noise and chaos, and bond closely with my person. I’m a smart, sensitive, herding breed - so I thrive with mental and physical activity and I give that dedication right back in loyalty and love.
