Story
Hi, I`m Appa! I’m basically the total package. I love every human I meet (seriously, I haven’t found one I don’t like yet), I know “sit,” walk like a gentleman on leash, and keep my space tidy—no trash raiding, no naughty shenanigans, even overnight. I’m housebroken, well-mannered, and very interested in learning new things. In fact, I’d gladly continue my education… especially if treats are involved. My hobbies include making friends, going for walks, collecting toys… and conducting aggressive quality-control testing on stuffed animals. (Stuffies rarely survive. Consider yourself warned.)I’m proud to report I do not destroy property. Fine print: “Property” does not include stuffed toys. Stuffies have their own separate policy.I also have an adventurous side. While I’m perfectly happy relaxing on my bed in the shelter office, I’d love an active home where I can be part of the fun—whether that’s a running partner, hiking buddy, or maybe even trying dog sports like agility or Fast CAT. I’ve got the enthusiasm and interest to give it a go.If you’re looking for a friendly, easygoing companion with good manners, a playful side, and lots of love to give, I might be your guy. References available upon request… although everyone in the shelter office already seems to be a fan.

Story
Naomi is an adorable herding-type girl whose intelligence, enthusiasm, and playful spirit are exactly what you’d expect from this active breed group. She recently joined staff for a lunch outing and showed just how fun she can be. Naomi loaded easily into the car and, after some excited wiggling at the start of the adventure, settled in nicely for the ride. At the café she walked politely, sat calmly while food was ordered, and relaxed in the sunshine once everyone was seated. Naomi truly shines when she gets to move—she loved zooming around on a long line, splashing in the water, and rolling in the grass. She’s highly treat-motivated and already knows cues like sit, speak, and paw, with down still being a work in progress. Like many herding dogs, she can get a little overstimulated during play and may jump up or grab at arms while vocalizing, but she responds well to redirection and is eager to learn. Now living in a foster home, Naomi is thriving and showing what a wonderful companion she can be. She rides well in the car, is house trained, and does well when left home alone. She enjoys playdates with a friend’s dog and gets along great with her canine buddy. While she hasn’t yet been around cats or children in the foster home, she has been a fantastic houseguest and continues to show her happy, affectionate personality. Naomi would do best in an active home that can give her the exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training that her smart herding brain craves. In return, she’ll reward her adopter with endless fun, loyalty, and the joy of sharing life with a truly special dog.
