Story
🐾 Meet Josie! 💕 If Josie had a life motto, it would probably be “What’s the rush?” 😂 This girl lives life on island time — absolutely no sense of urgency, and we kind of love her for it. Josie is about 1½ years old, approximately 65 pounds, and a Collie mix with the most beautiful coat. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, and if you gave her the choice between a treat and some love and pets, she’s choosing you. ❤️ She can be a little reserved at first, but she’s coming out of her shell more every day. As she gets comfortable, you start to see her curious, playful side. She enjoys playing with the right dog — maybe just not the resident grumpy one who would prefer she take her island-time energy elsewhere. 😂 Josie is dog and cat friendly, crate trained, house trained, and good on a leash… although all bets are off if a squirrel makes an appearance. 🐿️ She’s also starting to discover that toys and bones are actually pretty fun! Josie’s story started during the brutal winter storm of February 2025. A Good Samaritan had taken in a heavily pregnant stray, but Mama wandered off when it was time to deliver. Tragically, the puppies were born outside in the freezing temperatures, and only four survived. Josie was one of those four. Their rescuer made sure Mama and all four surviving puppies were fully vetted and spayed/neutered and eventually found homes for two of the puppies. But Josie and her sister, Junie, kept waiting. For the last year and a half, their rescuer continued loving and caring for them. Now living on a fixed income and unable to continue financially supporting two additional dogs, she reached out for help finding these girls the families they deserve. And now we get to introduce everyone to Josie. 🥰 She’s gentle, affectionate, a little goofy, increasingly curious and completely content to take life at her own pace. She doesn’t need life to move fast — she just needs someone to finally choose her. ❤️ Maybe Josie has been waiting all this time for you

Story
Koda is a 7.5 month old, very adorable, male Bordercollie/Aussiedoodle mix at about 50ish lbs! He is beigsurrendered due to health issues of his person. He is now with GRRAND and he needs a good grooming/brushing, but other than that, he's a typical active puppy.  He has just arrived so we are still learning about him, but our volunteer who hung out with his in the field says: "Koda may still be fairly young, but he has the best manners and he has the sweetest personality. Koda is a very handsome mix and loves to carry a ball around but will drop it when you are taking his picture or when he wants snuggles. Koda will be a great companion to humans and he has a reputation for getting along with other dogs. Koda will need regular grooming to maintain his beautiful coat and a family that will be able to give him the exercise and direction he needs as he is still a young puppy." He will need plenty of attention and affection and is just a great weight to be able to go all kinds of places with his new family.  Koda is house-trained and crate-trained and sleeps in his crate at night or left home alone during the day. We are still learning about Koda, so please check back, but if you would like to meet this guy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   Koda loved people and other dogs. If anything he gets overexcited so I’m mindful when walking. Lovesballs, fetch and playing in the water. He wants to be close and where you are. ##2831463##

Story
URGENT: SPECIAL MEDICAL FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE FAMILY NEEDED! Lucie Bee is a 2 year, 7 month old female Golden Retriever (about 68 lbs) and her BFF Buddy is a 3 year, 8 month old Border Collie/Akita mix (about 50lbs) and they are the kind of pair who just belong together! These two came to GRRAND after their family experienced a heartbreaking loss, and through all of the change in their world, they’ve held tightly to the one thing that has remained constant: each other. They are wonderfully bonded, deeply connected, and, as one person lovingly described them, “like peanut butter and jelly.” Buddy Bee is the black-and-white charmer of the pair — friendly, social, and full of love. He doesn’t know a stranger and seems to believe every person he meets is simply a friend he hasn’t said hello to yet. He’s the more outgoing half of this duo and brings a happy, easy warmth wherever he goes. Lucie Bee is Buddy’s beautiful golden sidekick. She’s a little softer and more sensitive at first, but once she settles in, she does just fine. If Buddy is the social butterfly, Lucie is the sweet soul who takes a minute to look around, make sure all is well, and then quietly let her lovely personality shine. She’s a good girl who seems to draw comfort from having Buddy close by... And Buddy is very happy to oblige! She is also able to clear a 4 FT high fence, so a privacy fenced yard or professionally installed invisible fence would be best to keep them contained. These two truly seem to balance each other in the best way — Buddy bringing the confidence, Lucie bringing the gentle heart, and both of them bringing a whole lot of sweetness to the table. They are curious, affectionate, fun and pretty calm dogs. They are an awesome pair. Lucie is also facing a medical hurdle right now. After arriving at GRRAND not wanting to bear weight on one of her back legs, she was evaluated by our vet and diagnosed with a torn CCL, which means she will need surgery. Because of that, GRRAND will be looking for a medical foster for Lucie while she recovers. Our hope, of course, is to find a foster willing and able to take both Buddy and Lucie together, because they are so very close. We also understand that fostering a dog recovering from orthopedic surgery while also taking on a bonded pair is a big ask. If needed, they may have to be temporarily separated during Lucie’s recovery, but only if absolutely necessary. Buddy Bee and Lucie Bee are looking for a soft place to land, a family who will appreciate the sweetness of a bonded pair, and a home where they can continue the next chapter of life together. They’ve already been through a great deal, but they still have so much love to give to a loving new family. If your heart has room for two very special best friends, Buddy Bee and Lucie Bee would love to meet you, so please fill out an app at GRRAND.org and we can make this meet and greet happen! ##2778287##
