Story
🎉🐾 Meet Ralphie — the puppy who’s ready to steal your heart! 🐾🎉 Ralphie isn’t just cute… he’s show-stopping adorable. With his caramel-and-white coat, big expressive eyes, and playful puppy grin, this little guy lights up every room he waddles into. Ralphie LOVES life — snuggling into cozy blankets, chasing toys, and following his humans like the loyal little shadow he already is. He’s curious, smart, and eager to learn, making training fun (especially if treats are involved!). He does wonderfully with kids and gets along great with other dogs, making him the perfect addition to a loving family ready for puppy fun, adventures, and lots of cuddles. Ralphie is ready for a forever home that will spoil him with attention, playtime, and love. In return, he’ll give you wagging tails, goofy puppy moments, and a lifetime of loyalty. ✨ If you’re looking for a happy, playful, heart-melting best friend… Ralphie is your guy! ✨

Story
Max hasn’t been dealt the easiest hand in life. Due to severe hip issues, he is considered a special-needs dog and will require a major surgery in the future. While the exact course of treatment is still being determined, Max’s adopter or foster will need to be willing to stay in contact and work closely with us as we move forward together. Currently, Max receives Librela injections and joint supplements to help keep him comfortable in his daily life. But Max is so much more than his medical history. Max is an absolute joy to be around. He has a wonderful temperament with people and is sweet, goofy, bouncy, and full of playful charm. Watching Max experience a snow day is pure magic, his happiness is contagious. He also loves soaking up the sunny days and lounging around, happiest when he’s near his favorite people. At HSOC, Max has done well with several other dogs. Because of his hips, rough or overly long play sessions can cause him to limp, so a home with lower-energy canine companions (or dogs who understand when playtime is over) would be ideal. A meet-and-greet will be required to ensure any potential dog friends are a good match. While in a temporary foster home, Max showed some separation anxiety, which is not uncommon for shelter dogs adjusting to big changes. Our trainer, Jim Kats, is happy to provide a transitional lesson to help Max settle comfortably into his new home. Max is special in every sense of the word. He’s looking for someone who can see past his challenges and appreciate the incredible, loving dog

Story
We first adopted Sofie in Baltimore, MD when she was a puppy. We were attracted by her sweet nature (via jumping on our laps and giving licks to the face). We have another dog, cat, and a child in our home. Sofie does well with our cat, and for the most part does well with our other dog. However, recently there have been instances where the dogs have gotten into fights. With a new child in our home, we feel there is too much risk to allow these fights to continue, though we love both of our dogs dearly. Sofie is incredibly loyal and a highly trainable dog. She loves to play tug a war and chase after frisbees. She would benefit from being the only dog in the home, with an owner who prioritizes her training/play. Sofie would be best in a home without young children. She is 6 years old and has so much love to give to the right home.

Story
This handsome guy is Pretzel!! a super sweet, lovable and energetic guy!! Pretzel came to stay with us at the end June. We brought him home so he wouldn't have to go back to the shelter. We have spent time working with him and really getting to know his personality.... And it's a great one! We have 2 dogs or our own and he abso loves his buddies. We have a cat but he doesn't really chill near the dogs, however in the few interactions they had Pretzel has shown no aggression but wants to play in a way the cat doesn't care for. Unfortunately due to now fault of his own pretzel is not a good long term fit for us. our child is autistic and just cannot seem to warm to Pretzel. He was estimated to be about a year old is fixed and current on all vaccinations. Pretzel has a lot of energy but also loves to cuddle up on the couch. He is still a puppy and is learning, he does chew a bit. we have been able to curb this behavior with appropriate toys.
