Story
Poppy is a sweet, loving girl who deserves a home with more time, attention, and companionship than I’m currently able to give her. This is an incredibly difficult decision for me because I love her deeply, but I want to do what’s best for her happiness and quality of life. She has a loving personality and brings so much joy to the people around her. Poppy would thrive in a home where she can get consistent affection, playtime, and companionship. She deserves someone who can fully give her the time and energy she needs. I’m not looking for “just anyone” I want to make sure she goes to a safe, caring, and responsible home where she’ll be truly loved and cared for. If you think you could be a good fit for Poppy or want to know more about her personality, routines, or needs, please message me.

Story
Are you looking for a loving Velcro dog? Bluey might be the perfect fit for you. She is a 2½-year-old Blue Heeler that I adopted from an animal shelter, where she had only been for 5 days before I brought her home. Bluey is incredibly energetic, loyal, and affectionate. She loves being close to her person and will happily follow you around all day. She is also smart and knows basic commands like sit and lay down, and she does a great job letting you know when she needs to go outside to potty. Because she is a cattle dog, Bluey would thrive best in a home with farmland or plenty of open space where she can run and get the exercise she needs. She has so much love to give, and I want her next home to be one where she will be just as loved—if not more. If you’re looking for a devoted, active companion, Bluey could be your perfect match. ❤️

Story
Meet Lennox! 🐾 Lennox is a 3-year-old Cattle Dog mix weighing in at 40 pounds. She’s spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccines and preventatives. This sweet, happy girl is an absolute joy and is sure to bring endless love and laughter to her forever family. A proud graduate of dog training program, Lennox is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows her basic commands. She’s smart, affectionate, and loves to please — especially when she’s getting plenty of love and attention in return! If you want to always be greeted with a smile and a happy wiggle butt when you come home, Lennox is your girl! She would thrive as the only pet in the home, as she prefers not to share her humans with other dogs or cats. A fenced yard would be ideal so she can stretch her legs and get the exercise she loves. Lennox is a people-focused pup who blossoms with structure, guidance, and companionship. If you’re ready to welcome this loyal, loving girl into your life, please start by submitting an adoption application on our website: www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com. Story
This is Eva, a five year old blue heeler. She is sweet & smart! Her energy is adaptable - if you want to relax at home, she will snuggle, but if you want to play or go on a walk, she is ready for that too. We have had her since she was a puppy. She’s up to date on all shots, and she gets flea/tick & heartworm prevention monthly. She is spayed. Potty trained, leash trained, ecollar trained, and crate trained. Needs to be in a home without other pets or small children/toddlers (does fine with older kids & teenagers).

Story
Meadow is a beautiful mix of American Staffordshire Terrier/Cattle Dog/Golden Retriever and 100% built for adventure. She was born on March 21st, 2026 and is ready to find her forever home!  The gal is the canine equivalent of a hiking buddy, a personal trainer and a golden-hearted best friend all rolled into one. She is smart, athletic, eager to learn, and happiest when her body and brain is busy! She will thrive with an active family committed to exercise, structure and training. Experience is preferred- this kiddo is brilliant, but she is not a 'starter dog.'  BONUS: Meadow comes with FREE training through Rosie Dane Dog Training once she is old enough, so you'll have support from day 1.  If you're ready for muddy paws, big adventures, and a dog that will love you with her whole heart, Meadow is waiting!  MEADOW'S ADOPTION FEE IS $200 (which covers most of the medical costs.)The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    May 7, 2026, 2:47 pm

Now that Daisy's busy with her puppies, it's Poppy's turn to shine! At just about 1 year old, she's full of life and ready for her next chapter.  Poppy is the kind of dog who will belly crawl right into your heart-gentle, affectionate, hikes, or just explore the world with her people.  She's ready to trade shelter walls for sunshine, trails and love.  If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as her smile, come meet Poppy!   www.barktownrescue.org/adopt  POPPY'S ADOPTION FEE IS $200  The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Story
Meet Billie Smiles: Active, Hilarious & Social One look at Billie and you’ll see why she earned her nickname. She has a literal, ear-to-ear smile that lights up the room! Billie is a smart, high-energy mix of Aussie Shepherd, Husky, and Golden Retriever who is looking for her next adventure. The Best of Billie: Dog Socialite: She loves other dogs and craves playtime. She’d be thrilled with a canine sibling. Active Athlete: She thrives on long walks, hikes, and dedicated play. Loyal Companion: She’s great with people! While she takes a moment to "warm up," once she does, she is a devoted, hilarious friend. Her "Must-Haves": Due to a high prey drive, Billie cannot live with cats. She is being rehomed strictly because she needs a feline-free environment where she can thrive safely. She needs an active owner or family committed to giving her the exercise her breed mix loves. Billie is healthy, happy, and ready to bring her signature smile to a cat-free home!

Story
*This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Cooper! He is an 8-year-old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs around 20 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots (he is allergic to the rabies and DHPP vaccines) but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Cooper is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around younger children. He is good with older children and cats. He is good with the other dogs inside of the home but is nervous around dogs outside of the home! He isn’t housebroken or crate trained. The owner is surrendering him because her other dog doesn’t get along with him. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Cooper, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Cooper. Owner’s Contact Information: Jessica jessicakaylett@yahoo.com
