We adopted Wulf as a puppy he has always been high strung, which we attributed to the border collie in him. But as our family grew, so did his anxiety, he has lived in our home with two other dogs, and when his anxiety gets bad, he does lash out at the other dogs. The veterinarian has put them on Prozac, which helped at first but doesn’t seem to be as effective now. Him and my youngest dog got into it and he ended up getting hurt and had to be on antibiotics. Luckily, my parents took him in for a couple weeks so he could heal and during that time in a quieter environment with no other dogs, he did really well. He is a good boy, looking back. I feel like we’ve spent so much time trying to make him conform to our life when maybe we weren’t the right fit for him. I believe he would do better in a home with no other dogs, possibly with an older person or couple who is home more with him and less chaos. He’s smart he knows how to sit and shake he is crate trained.

Advice about dogs living with children is based on behavior like energy level and how the dog handles touch. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable. *Sponsored*Haze is the wiggliest little cattle dog/pittie mix we've ever met. If you're looking for a dog under 50 lbs that loves to cuddle and play, Haze is your boy! Weighing in at just under 50 lbs, Haze found his way onto someone's farm where he had way too much fun chasing chickens and cats. Because of this, we can't reccomend he goes to a home with cats. However, Haze is great with other dogs, and this social boy loves to connect with people as well. When Haze spends time as office dog, it is evident that he is a bit out of his element. He loves to hop on the couch and chew on a treat, but when presented with toys, although interested, he's not quite sure what to do with them. The same could be said for his interactions with people. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and when he gets excited, he's not quite sure how to express that excitement which can lead to a bit of (gentle) mouthy play.Most noticeable is how joyful he gets whenever he is shown affection and attention. Focused one-on-one time fills Haze's body with so much joy that he cannot contain it, and that's when the wiggles take over.
