Story
Fall is officially here and it’s time to think about staying warm this winter. Royal would like to help. He’s around 3 years old and thought to be a Shepherd/Collie mix. He’s a professional lap sitter and bed warmer. Yes, he loves to snuggle. Royal is a very affectionate boy who loves his humans. He’s great with other dogs, and we think he would do best in a home with another active canine companion! He is currently in a foster home with dogs his own size, and one small senior dog. He gets along well with all of them. One of his favorite activities is chasing his foster brothers around the fenced yard. He also loves car rides, walks, and has enough energy to keep up with someone who runs. Royal is not a good fit for cats as he would like to chase them, and has shown a high prey drive when encountering rabbits and birds. Dogs only please, but they can be male or female, big or small, he loves them all. Royal, also known as Good Boy Roy, lives up to his nickname in every way except with 4 foot fences...he can clear them so we are requiring a 6 foot fence to keep him safe.  Due to his energy level Royal would be a good fit for older children. He is fully  housebroken, leash, and kennel trained. This good boy will walk right into his kennel when asked. He is well behaved free roaming the house and only uses his kennel when the humans are out. He is not kenneled at night and would prefer to share a bed with you. So be prepared for Nebraska weather and adopt this handsome lap and bed warmer by applying at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org ADOPTION DONATION: $350 *ALL DOGS MUST BE INSIDE COMPANION ANIMALS! They must all be trained with positive reward based training only and no electric fences.  All Haven's pets are all up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives. PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! December 3, 2025, 10:11 pm

Story
Meet Jake! The Gentle Soul With a Heart of Gold! At 10 years young, Jake is a sweet, soulful heeler mix who proves that age is just a number. This 62-pound gentleman has so much love left to give and he’s ready to share it with a forever family who’ll cherish him. Jake came to us after some pack conflicts in his previous home, but he’s shown amazing growth in his foster care. With slow introductions and respectful dog friends, he’s learned to build new bonds, even becoming best buds with his foster dog siblings!  He’s a total people-lover, gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s near his humans. Jake enjoys easy walks, cozy couch time, and even joins his foster family for 2-mile jogs every day (yes, he’s still got plenty of pep in his step!). Jake is the full package: loyal, calm, loving, and still full of life. If you’re searching for a devoted walking partner and snuggle buddy, this handsome cattle dog will melt your heart.   The adoption fee is $250 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##267697##

Story
Danni is a 4 year old Cattle dog mix who is training to play ball for the major leagues one day! Her preferred pawrent would throw a ball for her all day long.  Her foster dad is encouraging her to expand her horizons and she is now enjoying long walks, squeeky toys, butt scratches, belly rubs and cuddles on the couch and bed.  She has mastered basic commands like "sit" and will now "wait" before eating her meal or exiting.  They are working on "paw", "lay" and "stay".  She appears to be potty trained and has not had any accidents in her foster home.  Danni had some past resource guarding tendencies so she should not go to a home with smaller kids.  She does tend to startle with loud noises and requires reassurance to settle down and relax in the car.  She does not seem to like other dogs but if her foster dad has her engaged in a game of fetch she is able to ignore the neighbor's dog barking at her. While Danni may be a bit anxious at first, she connects deeply with humans who show her compassion, patience, attention and have a good arm! Apply to meet Danni and she may do her spin excited dance for you! The adoption fee is $350** and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an application.  **Part of Danni's adoption fee is spnosored by someone who loves her very much! Her adoption fee is now $250** We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***?
