Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.

Story
Lucy is three years old and a very sweet dog at her core. She is extremely intelligent, so much so we can play hide and seek in our whole house and she’s capable of finding us. With that intelligence comes a lot of anxiety and her breed is a mix of Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, German Shepherd and a little bit of Boxer.Because of her herding instincts, she is a little unpredictable around small children and infants. We have a 2 year old and another on the way, and it’s concerning enough to rehome. She’s never bitten or lunged at a child, but she puppy guards food and hates being approached when laying down.Despite this she loves to snuggle and climb into bed with us. We believe, with the right home, enough exercise and lots of love, she will continue to be an excellent addition to a family!

Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster.  This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their  pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is  unavailable for adoption.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster  to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The  adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive  family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal  reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We  always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. It breaks our hearts to say this, but we’re searching for a new home for our sweet boy, Panda. Panda is an incredibly loving, energetic dog with a huge heart. He’s smart, eager to please, and quickly learns new things—he already knows commands like “lay down” and “shake.” He truly thrives on connection and attention from his people. He absolutely lights up during playtime, especially with his favorite skunk toy or any ball. Watching him run and play brings so much joy—he has a special way of brightening a home. This has been a very difficult decision, made out of love and a desire to do what’s best for him. We are also expecting, and won't have the proper time to train a young pup and raise a baby. Panda would do best as the only male dog in a home where he can receive all the time, attention, and affection he deserves. We’re hoping to find a person or family who will love him as much as we do. Winston - Deaf Dogs Hear with Their Hearts Hello world I'm Winston....please don't mind me as I practice my sign language! You see, I'm hearing impaired, but I am super smart so I use hand signs to communicate! I have been waiting a while for my perfect home, but I will be a great companion once I find the right match. I will need SEVERAL MEETS before adoption, as I am people selective and it takes me a bit to get to know and trust someone. I'm a two year old who is a happy, handsome fella with gorgeous baby blues and would love to be someone's one and only. Once I trust them, I'd love for them to take me on walks/runs, play fetch, toss me toys, snuggle with me and teach me new commands! I do have a few requirements, though: I NEED A FENCED IN YARD, AN EXPERIENCED OWNER AND MUST BE AN ONLY DOG. So, if you have enough time, patience, dogs skills and can go slow with me, I will learn to trust you and be your loyal forever boy. No apartments please! Also, small children make me really nervous as I can't hear them so teenagers and adults only. I also prefer a house that won't be active with too many strangers coming and going but am crate trained, if needed. I currently living with a trainer and she loves me so much that she will provide continued training help for my whole life! I haven't had many good experiences in my life yet, so I'd love to be your loyal best new friend, if you have time to devote to me! Want to meet me and see how amazing we can be together?
