Story
Say hello to sweet Maize, a Border Collie Mix born approximately 09/2022. Maize meaning corn in spanish was found near a corn field hense her name. This sweet girl was frieghtened and untrusting, but with some food and patiences she found a way to trust again. As she has been settling into her foster home we believe she will do good with other animals (dogs and cats) but will require a good introduction. We also think she would love to have a human sibling to play with, but due to her fear of loud sounds we think its best if they are over the age of 10 years. She is a sweet and loving girl who just needs some help learning to be a part of a family again. She can be pretty vocal so a non apartment/duplex home would be best for her. She also would love to have a fenced-in yard to run and play in. The suggested adoption donation for Maize is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $300,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1814753##

Story
Ozzie (b. 3/2020) is a handsome and very active Border Collie looking for a home with someone who can help him expel his energy.  He has a love of fetch and would play all day if you let him!  Ozzie likes to go for walks and has made big improvements on his leash manners.  He's never had encounters with cats and kids, so he doesn't know whether he likes them or not, but he has been around other dogs and with a good introduction, a playmate might be right up this sweet boy's alley!  Ozzie is kennel trained and potty trained, he'll even let you know when he needs to go.  He is a bit shy with men, so he will need a slow introduction and possibly more than one.  Ozzie's ideal home would be low traffic as he hasn't been around a lot of people in his lifetime, and would include a fenced in yard where he can run.  Ozzie is a great side-kick and would love someone who could spend lots of time with him and include him in their daily activites.  If you're looking for a loyal side-kick, too, apply for Ozzie today!   The suggested adoption donation for Ozzie is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
My story will break your heart but perhaps knowing some of the details would allow me to take credit for how far I've come in my healing journey.  My future is bright with a forever family who will show me the grace, love and consistency I need for success.  While I love to play with most other dogs, there are times when too much stimulation contributes to temporary insanity.  My humans will need to read my clues and advocate for my needs.  That may mean quiet time in a kennel or supervised couch snuggles.  My walking skills are improving remarkably but there are days when I'll need shorter, more frequent walks as opposed to one long walk. When my forever family establishes a consistent routine for me, kindly redirects my missteps and constantly rewards my wins,  my devotion, love and appreciation will overflow.  For more information, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. The adoption fee is $100 plus tax and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission. If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want tomeet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down toOnline Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contactedto set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will besupervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Ifyou have a dog or dogs currently, a meet and greet with the dog is also required but can be done at the sametime. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and ourmission. ##1666777##

Story
Meet our adorable blue-eyed sweetheart, Tex! This charming boy, just shy of 7 months old, is eagerly awaiting his forever family! Currently being fostered until he finds his perfect match, he's already mastered the art of potty training and kennel etiquette (sleeping a solid 10 hours!). With a repertoire of basic commands like sit, get it, and potty, he's a quick learner eagerly awaiting to add 'wait' and 'leave it' to his skill set! Living harmoniously with both large and small dogs, as well as feline friends, he's a true social butterfly. Plus, he adores his human siblings and thrives on their affection! Ideal for an active household, this pup loves to stay on the move! Whether it's playing with his beloved humans and canine companions, burning off energy with zoomies, or solving dog puzzles for meals, he's always up for an adventure. Yet, when it's time to unwind, there's nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up on your lap. Tex is believed to be a mix of Aussie and Blue Heeler, so his boundless energy and keen intellect make him a perfect candidate for agility training or scent work. If you're an active family with a yard or someone ready to take on the challenge of training him for his dream job, Tex is the ideal companion for you! If you're ready to welcome this lovable pup into your home, don't hesitate to apply today! The adoption fee is $400.00, plus tax. The adoption fee covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel. Roxie is a Blue Heeler mix puppy. She is a sweetheart and learning to walk on leash. She would flourish in puppy training classes so make an appointment to come see her and get her enrolled now.
