Story
Echo (b. 12/2021) a Border Collie mix.  Echo is looking for her furever home.  She has lived with other dogs but would do best in a home with no other dogs.  She would love a home with a fenced in yard to get some of her energy out.  She would love to have an active family to be with.  The suggested adoption donation for Echo is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time-to-time owner’s find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1908597##

Story
Say hello to sweet Maize, a Border Collie Mix born approximately 09/2022. Maize meaning corn in spanish was found near a corn field hense her name. This sweet girl was frieghtened and untrusting, but with some food and patiences she found a way to trust again. As she has been settling into her foster home we believe she will do good with other animals (dogs and cats) but will require a good introduction. We also think she would love to have a human sibling to play with, but due to her fear of loud sounds we think its best if they are over the age of 10 years. She is a sweet and loving girl who just needs some help learning to be a part of a family again. She can be pretty vocal so a non apartment/duplex home would be best for her. She also would love to have a fenced-in yard to run and play in. The suggested adoption donation for Maize is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Ozzie (b. 1/2021) is a handsome and very active Border Collie looking for a home with someone who can help him expel his energy.  He has a love of fetch and would play all day if you let him!  Ozzie likes to go for walks but could use a little help with his leash manners.  He's never had encounters with cats and kids, so he doesn't know whether he likes them or not, but he has been around other dogs and with a good introduction, a playmate might be right up this sweet boy's alley!  Ozzie isn't overly fond of men, so he likely wouldn't thrive in a home with one.  Ozzie's ideal home would be low traffic as he hasn't been around a lot of people in his lifetime, and would include a fenced in yard where he can run.  Ozzie is a great side-kick and would love someone who could spend lots of time with him and include him in their daily activites.  If you're looking for a loyal side-kick, too, apply for Ozzie today!   The suggested adoption donation for Ozzie is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
DOB: June 2022. We have had her since 11 weeks old. She does not do well with our cats—very strong prey drive. This is our main reason for rehoming. She does well with our other 2 dogs (Boston Terriers). She does fairly well with our kids (10 and 8) but does herd, nip sometimes. No experience with younger kids. She comes with her kennel, leash, all papers, etc. She does well in her kennel for 8 hours (work day and at night). She is a beautiful, loving girl. She loves to curl up on the back of the couch and rest her head on our shoulders and wrap her tail around our necks. We were hoping and trying so hard to make a peaceful environment for our cats with her, but we have sadly not been successful. Please no one that is not familiar with this breed! She needs lots of activity and play. She must have a fenced yard.
