Story
My story will break your heart but perhaps knowing some of the details would allow me to take credit for how far I've come in my healing journey.  I am 3 yrs and 3 mths old. My future is bright with a forever family who will show me the grace, love and consistency I need for success.  While I love to play with most other dogs, there are times when too much stimulation contributes to temporary insanity.  My humans will need to read my clues and advocate for my needs.  That may mean quiet time in a kennel or supervised couch snuggles.  My walking skills are improving remarkably but there are days when I'll need shorter, more frequent walks as opposed to one long walk. When my forever family establishes a consistent routine for me, kindly redirects my missteps and constantly rewards my wins,  my devotion, love and appreciation will overflow.  For more information, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. The adoption fee is $100 plus tax and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission. If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want tomeet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down toOnline Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contactedto set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will besupervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Ifyou have a dog or dogs currently, a meet and greet with the dog is also required but can be done at the sametime. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and ourmission. ##1666777##

Story
Meet our adorable blue-eyed sweetheart, Tex! This charming boy, only 10 months old, is eagerly awaiting his forever family! Currently being fostered until he finds his perfect match, he's already mastered the art of potty training and kennel etiquette (sleeping a solid 10 hours!). With a repertoire of basic commands like sit, get it, and potty, he's a quick learner eagerly awaiting to add 'wait' and 'leave it' to his skill set! Living harmoniously with both large and small dogs, as well as feline friends, he's a true social butterfly. Plus, he adores his human siblings and thrives on their affection! Ideal for an active household, this pup loves to stay on the move! Whether it's playing with his beloved humans and canine companions, burning off energy with zoomies, or solving dog puzzles for meals, he's always up for an adventure. Yet, when it's time to unwind, there's nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up on your lap. Tex is believed to be a mix of Aussie and Blue Heeler, so his boundless energy and keen intellect make him a perfect candidate for agility training or scent work. If you're an active family with a yard or someone ready to take on the challenge of training him for his dream job, Tex is the ideal companion for you! If you're ready to welcome this lovable pup into your home, don't hesitate to apply today! The adoption fee is $400.00, plus tax. The adoption fee covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel. Story
Waldo is a 3 year old dog with a hard beginning. He was surrendered to the rescue we foster for as a puppy. He has been with us since then and has struggled with his anxiety and fear of most things. He struggles to be around other dogs or children, which we have. He is loving and sweet with the grown ups in our family. Children make him nervous as do strangers and other dogs. He tends to play too rough with our cat and has attacked our other dog and children without provocation. He needs a home without children or other pets where he can feel safe. Someone with good training skills would also benefit as Waldo is quick to learn but unreliable and needs close guidance.

Story
Casper is a 3 year old Blue Heeler mix. We adopted him in 2020 in Omaha, NE. He is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to cuddle and play. He knows all the basic commands like sit, stay, etc. We are looking to rehome him due to changes in life coming to us in the near future. He's shown to be good around kids, though he is shy at first, so it takes him a little time to warm up to new people/dogs. He's also done very well with cats in the past. Preferably, he would be able to be rehomed to a home with a yard for him to run around in, or to a family that would be willing to fulfill his energy needs each day. We would like him to be rehomed with our other dog, Frog, as they've grown up together and we're not sure how they would do separately.

Story
Hey what's up? We are Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for the dream place to live out our golden years! Like Ma and Dorothy on "The Golden Girls", we just can't leave each other! Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog Mix who was born in December of 2015. Ricky is a Pointer Mix who was born in January of 2018. We are very timid dogs but once we trust you, we are the best of pals! Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her. Ricky's days normally include love of naps and hoarding the toys. Meanwhile, Lucy spends her day napping and hanging with her people! Due to their size and energy, they do need a home with a fenced-in yard. They both would not mind another canine friend in their forever home! Every duo needs a "Golden Girls Rose", don't they? Lucy and Ricky are happy to be retiring and enjoying the good life, and would prefer a home with no young kiddos. Are you ready to welcome them into your home!? The suggested adoption donation for Lucy and Ricky is $525. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page, Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046791##

Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Primrose is an adorable puppy who is full of personality, has one blue eye, and is a bundle of cuteness! She enjoys the company of others (both furry and human) and loves to play tug and fetch. She is making great progress with her crate and potty-training! As long as she gets her playtime and goes potty before bedtime, she will sleep through the night. She likes to start her day early and is a morning cuddlebug. She loves stuffed animals. She has the cutest butt wiggles and sweet little howl when she is feeling lonely. She gives all the appropriate signs when she needs something and is a wonderful puppy! She is currently learning 'sit' and to do it before she gets out of the crate, as well as before going outside for a potty break. She would love a furry companion to play 'keep away with', and tug, of course. She currently lives with a one 8 year old dog that she gets along great with, as well as two adults and a teenager. She can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly with a little reassurance and safety. She is curious about new sounds and likes to explore once she feels safe.Like any of our dogs, this sweet, beautiful girl would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that her breed needs.  Because of that, Prim's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience, and a friendly dog buddy.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Prim's adoption fee is $395, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.June 16, 2024, 10:49 am
