Story
Birdie is an intelligent smooth collie mix born around May 2025 who is looking for her forever family. She is an absolute sweetheart who is devoted, friendly, and fantastic with kids. Highly treat motivated and eager to learn, she has already mastered using the doggy door. Birdie loves playing with toys alongside other dogs and gets along great with canine companions. Because she shows a lot of curiosity around cats, she will thrive best in a kitty free home. She is fully spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. If you want a loyal and affectionate pup to add joy to your home, Birdie is eager to meet you.

Story
Jude is a young, handsome boy with energy to burn and a whole lot of personality. He`s confident, social, and genuinely affectionate once he gets comfortable. Give him a minute to sniff and settle with other dogs and he becomes easy going and enjoys his time. Jude does well with larger dogs and is still being evaluated with smaller ones. He`s very interested in cats, so for now we`re recommending a cat free home while we continue to test that. He`s a strong puller on leash and still working on his manners. He also has a habit of `air chomping` during play or excitement but doesn`t make contact. He`s housebroken, knows sit, and does great in the car.Jude needs an active home with a yard and an experienced adult who is happy to guide him while he learns how to be `man`s best friend` (he`s already got the personality to kick start the process!!). He`d do best with kids over 16, since he can jump and knock over anyone smaller.Age: 1.5 years Weight: 72 lbs Other Dogs: Good with larger dogs; reactive bark at first meeting, settles after sniffing Cats: No cats for now (very interested, still testing) Kids: Best with children over 16Home Type: Active home with a yard; needs an experienced, confident handler Known Commands: Sit Leash Manners: Working on loose leash training Good to Know: Playful `air chomper` (never made contact). Door darter, so secure fencing preferred. If you are interested in adopting Jude please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org. Once your application has been reviewed and approved we will work with you to schedule an appointment. Please no `drop-ins` to view dogs without an appointment. All High Sierra Animal Rescue dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micro-chipped, and more!

Story
Meet Zac – The Sweetest Soul You'll Ever Earn the Trust Of ❤️Zac is a goofy, loving, playful puppy with a heart as big as his paws. His favorite things are romping around with other dogs, curling up in a cozy bed, and happily chewing on his favorite toys. Like any puppy, he's still learning his manners; and he's making wonderful progress every day. What makes Zac truly special is how far he's come. When Zac arrived at Boxers and Buddies, the world was a frightening place. He had spent his entire life isolated in the home where he was born and had never experienced the outside world. Everything was unfamiliar, and everyone was scary. For the first two weeks in foster care, he hid behind the fireplace, too afraid to come out. Then something amazing happened. His foster dog siblings showed him that life could be fun. Little by little, Zac found the courage to explore, to play, and eventually to trust. Today, he enjoys off-leash hikes, greets visitors with curiosity, and has become a happy, affectionate companion to the people he knows and loves.Zac is still discovering that the world is a safe place, and every new experience helps him grow. He'll thrive in a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own pace. If you're willing to give him the time he needs, you'll be rewarded with an incredibly loyal best friend who will love you with his whole heart. Some dogs are easy to love at first sight. Zac is the kind of dog whose love is earned; but once you've earned it, it's truly unforgettable. If you have a gentle heart, another friendly dog would be a wonderful bonus, and you're looking for a companion whose transformation will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life, Zac is waiting to meet you.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
