Story
Teddy is a 3-year-old Smooth Coat Collie/German Shepherd mix who has come a long way since arriving at the shelter. When he first got here, he was very scared and preferred to keep his distance from people. Thanks to the shelter`s Shy Dog Program, Teddy has made tremendous progress and is learning that humans aren`t nearly as scary as he once thought. These days, Teddy has warmed up to volunteers and enjoys attention and petting from people he knows. He may still be a little shy in new situations or when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, he`ll happily lean in for affection. Underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet, gentle dog who wants to connect.Teddy walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out and exploring with his human friends. He also appears playful with other dogs and regularly gives off friendly, social vibes through the fence. His previous owners surrendered him due to financial reasons and reported that he spent most of his time outdoors. Teddy seems ready for an upgrade. He`d much rather be included in family life and would do best as an indoor dog with supervised outdoor time. Because he`s a smart boy with both Collie and Shepherd brains, he`ll benefit from training, enrichment activities, puzzle toys, and anything else that gives him a job to do besides contemplating the meaning of life in the backyard or looking for things to do himself.Teddy will need a secure yard and a family willing to continue building his confidence. In return, you`ll get a loyal companion who has already proven that with a little patience and kindness, he can blossom into a wonderful friend.

Story
Meet Charlotte! Miss Charlotte came to us emaciated, sick, and trying to feed five two-and-a-half week old puppies. Charlotte is a survivor if we ever saw one! Charlotte is likely about 2-3 years old. She loves to play and wrestle, and is actually getting pretty good at catch! She does a great job on leash and loves to go for walks - she can't wait to get out there and explore the world. Charlotte has loved every person she has met so far, and would make a wonderful companion for anyone who likes to socialize. Charlotte is potty trained, crate trained, and is definitely smart enough to learn any and all new skills you'd like to teach her! Charlotte was recently diagnosed with acquired Myasthenia Gravis. As a result, she does have megaesophagus and needs to eat her meals upright in a Bailey chair. Her condition is being managed with pyridostigmine - one pill morning and evening with her breakfast and dinner. At her current dose of medication, she isn’t exhibiting any symptoms (as long as she gets her upright meal times) and is otherwise incredibly healthy and strong. However, with this condition, adopters do need to be aware that symptoms can improve or worsen throughout a dog’s life and medication may need to be adjusted accordingly. For this reason, we are seeking adopters who have a good relationship with their vet and are either experienced with MG, or are willing to learn about this autoimmune condition. There's no limit to what we think this girl can do if given a chance. She loves to cuddle, and honestly just enjoys being the center of attention. We think Charlotte would thrive either as the only dog in the house or with a couple of other canine siblings. As long as there are people around, this beautiful lady is happy. If you enjoy frequent trips to Wiggle-town, this may be the perfect match for you and your family! Charlotte is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention, and microchipped. If you'd like to meet Charlotte or if you have any questions about her, our adoption process, or anything else, please feel free to email us at contact@bbnimalrescue.org or call/text us anytime at 505-333-8980.
