Story
Fun loving, goofy and handsome? Say no more! We have the dog for you! Joey is a sweet boy who wants to give all his love to his furever family! He is crate trained, and house broken. He has learned commands of sit, paw and speak. He loves to chase a ball and hold toys in his mouth as he runs around the backyard. He is high energy and loves to run and play, so he will need a home that can meet those needs. If he gets loose, he thinks it is a game and will run if you chase him, a fenced in yard would be ideal for him. Joey does best with female dogs only. Are you interested in adopting Joey or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to help@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center). We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Joey. Thanks for thinking adoption!

Story
This gorgeous black tri colored Collie mix is a showstopper with her perky ears and adorable eyebrows. At 60 lbs, this adult is ready to hit the trails as a walking companion- or heck- a running companion- either way she's looking forward to keeping you company. Jackie also indicated she is sooo looking forward to some good snuggle time as well!!! She is a great companion for other dogs as well as pretty much anyone who wants an admirer. She has great crate manners and is just a gem waiting to be discovered! A simple adoption request is all it takes to come and see this gorgeous, sweet girl!! **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: " She never pulled on the leash, but she did keep it tight". "She kept pace when speeding up and down, and likely would be a good running companion". "She wanted to be the pack leader through the hike, but she was still good on the leash. She would definitely find herself happy in a home with avid runners". *Weekend Host feedback: "She was just a doll and perfect house guest! She rides fantastic in the car; just curls up and lays quietly". "We walked on a bike path and she was not bothered at all by the bikes passing her. She did great on a leash, not pulling, but keeping some tension at times". " We had no potty accidents and she easily did her business every time we went outside". " She's food motivated and quickly picked up sit, shake and worked on the down command".

Story
My MIL had him for around 6-7years and was registered under us as she wanted him for her birthday. She cannot keep him anymore, due to retirement community standards. He is VERY sweet and loves kids. He does have eye issues but doesn’t cause problems as she says. I’m not sure if he’s utd on shots as she can’t remember. He is house trained, and very gentle. He is a working dog so loves to be outside moving around and being free.

These pups are in Holly Springs, North Carolina too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sid is a fun guy with big ears and lots of personality. He is very treat motivated and a quick learner. He loves to cuddle and be with his person.  This handsome canine friend has a leash aggression trait, which means that he thrives best in a home where he can be the sole dog. Sid's ideal environment includes a fenced yard, allowing him the space to explore, play, and enjoy the outdoors in a secure setting. In his foster home, Sid has shown great compatibility with other dogs. However, it's important to note that when meeting new canine friends while on a leash, Sid might take a bit of time to warm up. Patience is the key with Sid, as he transitions from cautious to comfortable when introduced to other dogs in a controlled manner. Sid's journey has shaped him into a loyal and loving companion, and his unique needs add a layer of charm to his personality. While he may need some time to build trust with other dogs, the rewards of having Sid as part of your family are immeasurable.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2024, 10:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hi! I’m Squid. I’ve been waiting way too long for my new (well, actually first!) family to find me. It all started when I was a stray, roaming the streets and minding my business when another dog knocked me up. Oops! When I had my babies, I got taken to a shelter where I hid in the corner of my kennel to nurse my babies. Then some random lady picked me up and brought me to her house where I had a whole room to take care of my pups. I gave everything I had to my babies, to the point that all my hair fell out while nursing! How embarrassing! My foster mom fed me good food and gave me lots of baths and now I’m nice and shiny again.  Im currently crashing here with several dogs and some cats. Apparently cats don’t want to play with me, but that’s okay I just watch them now. I’m still pretty shy around new people and take several days to warm up in a new place. But now that I know my foster ma, I do a silly dance for her every time she comes home. Maybe I can show you?  I’ve had a pretty rough start between being a homeless single mother and all, but I’m learning that life can be pretty good! I love laying in the sun, carrying stuffed toys around, wrestling with my foster brother, and choosing to lay in cat beds that are way too small for me even if there’s large dog beds available.  Foster Mom keeps telling me that there’s a family out there for me, so I’ll keep dreaming about you until you find me!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2024, 10:21 pm
