Jax is a cute 8-month old male Collie/Labrador Retriever mix who arrived at the HSOV on April 11, 2024 after he was picked up on Ward Road in the Marietta Ohio area by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden and brought to the safety of our shelter. Jax was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. This young man has a black-and-white short smooth coat with a subtle tan/silver undercoat, a long tail with a white tip on the end, and an adorable black face with a distinctive white vertical stripe, expressive brown eyes, a slender muzzle, and large semi-erect ears. Jax has a sweet, affectionate disposition and a playful personality. He was a joy to photograph when HSOV Volunteer Tracy Lynn accompanied Jax for outdoor photographs during a break in the rain the afternoon he arrived on April 11th. Jax is a happy overgrown puppy who is a pushover for attention, and Tracy was more than happy to lavish praise upon him for being 'such a good boy'. Jax weighs 45 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Jax will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.

Hi Sophie here! I have grown up here at the shelter, that is the only home I've known. I have grown very fond of the kind folks taking care of me. I would love nothing more than to have an actual home of my own. I am very nervous of new people, especially younger kids. It will take time for me to feel comfortable in a new home. I will need someone that is home most of the time so they can help me relax and adjust. I will require multiple visits before we can talk about me going home. If your interested in me please call the shelter.
