Gertie is a very sweet dog.  She gets along great with other dogs.  Energetic, loves attention, and playing. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. To be pre approved fill out an application at the link below.  You are welcome to come in anytime we are open to meet the cats and dogs.  If you are preapproved you can adopt on the same day.  We are open Monday-Saturday 1-4.  Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  https://arfok.org/pages/adoption Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies and some pure breed dogs.  All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   ##2667611##

Malibu is an intelligent, affectionate cattle dog mix who is ready to find an active family to call her own. She is fully potty trained, fully crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and can be trusted loose in the house while you're away. She already knows sit and is about 80% of the way to mastering stay, come, and place. Malibu loves to learn and would thrive in a home that enjoys training and wants a dog that is eager to pick up new skills. She has plenty of energy and loves to play fetch, although she's still convinced the game ends once she brings the ball back. Squeaky toys are another favorite, and after she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she's more than happy to curl up as close to her people as possible. Malibu loves puppies, does well with other dogs after proper introductions, and is great with kids. She does have a high prey drive, so while she hasn't been tested with cats, a cat-free home would likely be the best fit. Hi! My name is Zydrate, but you can call me Z! I was traded between friends when I was a puppy, now I’m two years old! I’m part cattle dog, German shepherd, and husky. A.K.A a busy body that needs space and attention and a job to do! My current situation is less than ideal at the moment, as I’ve just gotten spayed and am still getting used to my four legged siblings again. I play rough, but can be told to stop (sometimes I need to be grabbed, keep me leashed on walks! Never been reactive negatively towards children, i set boundaries with big dogs, scared of chichis!) I’m an escape artist, so make sure you’ve got a kennel for me! Trained to sleep and eat in the kennel, spend most of my days outside if someone can keep an eye on me! Super loving and loyal to the end, let me be your new family friend, or work companion!
