Story
Gertie is a very sweet dog.  She gets along great with other dogs.  Energetic, loves attention, and playing. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. To be pre approved fill out an application at the link below.  You are welcome to come in anytime we are open to meet the cats and dogs.  If you are preapproved you can adopt on the same day.  We are open Monday-Saturday 1-4.  Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  https://arfok.org/pages/adoption Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies and some pure breed dogs.  All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   ##2667611##

Story
Hi , my name is Jimmy and I came in with my brother Furby. Sadly our owner passed away and now we are both looking for a new home. We miss our owner very much , but we are still doing our best here to be good boys. I am house trained and walk well on a leash. I do like to bark sometimes and don't always get along with other male dogs , except for my brother of course. I really love people and spending time with them. May 28, 2026, 5:11 pm

Story
Introducing Thelma 🩵 Thelma and her sister Louise came to us as strays who were left unclaimed. She’s estimated as a 1 year old fully grown Australian Kelpie mix. Thelma is more reserved and anxious than her sister. Thelma appears to be suffering from littermate syndrome. She pants nervously, is vocal, paces back and forth in her kennel when she can’t see her sister or us. Typically puppies who are raised together (either littermates or similar ages) start to bond w each other too much, making it close to impossible to bond w other animals or humans. Thelma is set to be vetted tomorrow 4/16 at Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue. She’ll be spayed, vaccinated, chipped, heartworm tested, and given preventatives (if heartworm negative). Thelma would greatly benefit from having a foster home so she can learn that it’s alright to not be so dependent on her sister. She’s definitely a follower, not an in charge alpha female. Want to meet your new best friend? Stop by during our business hours or reach out to set up an appointment! Animals on stray hold are not available to be seen by the public, until their hold is up. Story
Meet Chase, a one-year-old, maybe heeler mix, who’s come an incredible distance from his feral beginnings. What was once fear has turned into trust, and he’s learning every day that people can be kind and loving. Chase is crate trained with no accidents and enjoys quiet time in his safe space. He still needs a little help loading into the car (he prefers to be gently lifted), and his favorite “game” is running just out of reach outside—it’s his playful way of saying, “Catch me if you can!” Once you get down on his level, though, he’ll come close for shy kisses and even ask for belly rubs. Chase is looking for a patient, gentle family who will keep helping him blossom into the happy, confident dog he’s meant to be. Apply to meet him today at carerescueok.org!   ##2469131##
